Ive had big dogs all my life(shepards, retreivers) and still have a 6 yr old golden retreiver. Im am gonna be moving out within the next 6-7 months and thinking about adopting a pooch. A woman at work today had 6 free choc. labs no papers but had shots but I waited to late and they all got picked up already=/

Atleast until I get moved out, it will stay at my house(huge backyard and pool for it to swim in if its addicted to water like my golden retreiver) and it will also stay at my gf's. My gf's family has kennels and PLENTY of acres to roam if its wishes too. I will mainly keep it out there during the week since she has a little sister who loves animals.

Ive seen all these threads about adopting animals and I wanna give one a chance before its to late and needs to be put to sleep. Last time I went to the dog pound I saw two golden retreivers who were brother and sister, few months old, I SO WANTED THEM but I had a cat and a dog so no go. I just wanna see what kind of dogs some of you have to help me make my mind up.

NO ANKLE BITERS:) my gf raises scotties, westies, yorkies, and poodles, and just got a english bulldog so I see enough small dogs. I'm thinking about a lab but I cant decide=/

Weimaraners are great dogs, usually don't end up at shelters very often though. They are very unique dogs with a personality all their own. My "Scirocco" is my best friend. I also thought about adopting a retired Greyhound, they are pretty cool as well. www.weimrescue.org is a good place to learn about rescue Weimaraners. my doggie

Beagles are medium sized, not chappy but not huge either. They do require a little bit of patience, however...because they are stubborn...but they are fairly relaxed and don't run around all over the place. Very great dogs, in my opinion. Worth a look.
