I wouldn't count on it. It says it's a DP -> Dual Link DVI converter, but I highly doubt that it's a true DP->Dual Link converter. All the other dual link converters require a supplementary USB power connection. AFAIK, all true dual link adapters that can output a dual link DVI signal require that USB power, and all of them are much larger and more expensive than that dell one.

The above mentioned conversion should happen at the first step no? From miniDP to female DP? (the Accell B112B-001B UltraAV Mini DisplayPort/DisplayPort(f) Adapter) In the comments someone mentions that he uses it to run a U3011 @ 2560x1600 from his apple laptop. The display port yo dual link DVI shouldn't have any active conversion no?

The minidisplayport to displayport adapter is just a pass-through adapter. It doesn't do anything to the digital signal.

The U3011 has displayport, and thus does not need a DP -> dual-link DVI adapter.
