I've got a ton of nero apps in add/remove programs and I can't get rid of them. I fear this may be corrupting my attempts to reinstall, since I can't get that to go through either. I routinely clean out temp folders so I guess that is why the uninstallers don't work. What can I do about this?

You can use Ccleaner, the Tools->Uninstall page will let you delete junk entries from the Add/Remove screen. Plus, you can use the Registry tab (Scan for Issues/Fix All Issues) to remove traces of the program from the registry. It's a nice must-have utility to have on any computer.

heh, CC Cleaner is probably what got me into this mess by removing the temp folders that the uninstall MSIs are trying to use. i've tried the uninstall section in cc cleaner... no love. it attempts to run the same msi that the add/remove applet does. and it won't let me remove the entry.

revo looks interesting. trying it now.

I just googled around a bit...came across this...
http://www.perfectuninstaller.com/
You could try it... use the force uninstall... how effect it is I don't know but it might work...

Other than that, are you sure you got all of the registry entries? Did you look search for "ahead" or just nero? Did you search for ahead, but using the actualy search feature in windows and not just delete the folder?

edit.....

Actually try this...
