Its all working fine here, but I think the higher end cards have some kind of issue, the prices look like Canadian dollars.

Actually, when it's a new product that's not yet widely available the egg is quick to capitalize and has done so on numerous occassions. Things I avoid buying from them include LCDs and any product they are gouging due to limited availability.

definitely a huge markup... kinda sucks :( wonder if they have too many fx59xx on hand

No...it's because demand highly exceeds the limited supply. Duh.

Which is fine because there are other stores more than willing to charge less than N'egg.

So -- what's your point? I don't work for Newegg. I couldn't care less about what other store you might use.

What is chaintech including, .. a hacky sac with your card??? Leadtek has a nice bundle, but it doesnt justifiy the $64 increase in price. I really like leadtek, they offer surveillance camera's and stuff.

I really dont like the change to neweggs site or these forums. Just a rant.

You folks considering the vanilla 6800's check out Evga's website. They have them for 299 plus Far cry for free. Pretty good deal IMO.

I don't use any online stores right now - I'm in Canada. We get screwed for the first 2-3 months of every new vid card generation; prices are sky high across the country.

X800 Pros go for $590-650 Canadian here; that's like $425-450.

Let alone the X800 XT's, which go for considerably more ($700-800 CDN range). Despite the fact that these cards are made by a Canadian company, they are way cheaper in the states right now.

Yeah about that. Why? Why are Canadian based video cards more expensive in Canada the the United States? Are they manufactured here in the US now? Or always were?

Unless you happen to know people who work @ ATI (just a 15 minute drive from my house! Is that sweet or what?).. then you can get unbeatable prices :-> (although no 9800XTs or X800s.. )

I have a Chaintech TI4200 right now that has died one last summer and I RMA'ed to Newegg and now the fan isn't working again and I wanted to RMA it, but since newegg doesn't have any replacements, they told me to go to Chaintech. Well, after searchng their site, I found some numbers for their headquarters in Taiwan, but I don't feel like calling or shipping anything that far. So, it looks like you are SOL on returns with these guys. Just my .02 on Chaintech.

i think i'm in this camp as well. i'm building for the first time next week, and it's going to be replacing a four-year old box. the only card i have to use is the one in my current box, which is a gf3 ti200 with a dying fan. i'm not going to get a radeon 9800pro and replace it next year. since i'm going to get borked on this card (no go on the compusa deal, heh), might as well go with the best in the business.
