I have just "upgraded" my SCSI (Adaptec 2940UW) system (CDRW, HD, CDROM) from an ASUS P2B mobo with a PII-400 to an Intel VC820 with a PIII-800. I used to be able to boot from the SCSI hd, now with the VC820, it only looks for a floppy when booting. It does not see my SCSI stuff at all. (Although the Adaptec card does show up during post, as well as all the SCSI drives and their addresses).
I have upgraded the mobo to version P16-0036. I set the boot order to Adaptec 2940UW first and floppy second.
I was able to get the drive to boot only after I removed the CD and the CDRW from the chain. If they are all connected, it boots from the floppy only. I don't know if there is something on the supplied CD that might help since I can only boot the system if the CD drives are not connected. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
