thank you sir.

Just a word of warning...Using DVDShrink won't give you as good quality as using DVD Rebuilder with CCE or Procoder (at least that's what I've read). However, CCE and Procoder are expensive I think. Using DVDShrink is faster though. I'm assuming you're going to be backing up to single layer DVDs correct? If you are backing up to dual-layer then just use DVDDecrypter since there is no need to compress. That would be a LOT of expensive dula-layer DVDs though.:)

If you're going to "backup" the dvds, and you want exact copies, you're gonna have to buy a dual-layer burner and only get dual-layer media(dual layer media is currently somewhat crappy quality). Otherwise, youre gonna be in for a lot experimenting and reading. That is the only way to make exact backups. Either that or split them to 2 discs each. That is also an option.

Otherwise, they will have to go onto a DVD5(single layer) and youre gonna have to learn how to use CCE and downsample them all and lose the extras as well. Its taken me years to master scenarist/cce method. However there are programs that sorta make it easier so. I do everything manually though so I couldnt advise you on that. You could decide not to use CCE for downsampling, however your dvds will all look like junk then and youll defnitely only be able to keep the movie only. The quality of all other apps out there are significantly lower than CCE.

If you decide to go dual-layer, ONLY buy verbatims. All other brands of DL media are currently poor. They are also about $2.00+ a disc, where as single layer discs are about $.17-.30cents each.

Thats about the shortest quick answer I can give ya. Hope that helps. :p

The quality of all those 1 clickor apps is still much lower than CCE's. Dvdshrink is decent though. I use it in tandem with CCE for downsampling extras and menus actually. Its quality is decent (if you use the deep analysis options though), but still much lower than CCE. I guess its subjective. Some people think xvids and divx dvdrips look good so... If you got a HDTV or similar, you will be able to see the difference easily.
