trying red bull for the 1st time

Does this stuff really work...I've fallen behind in class and need a boost to keep me awake while I study. Has this stuff worked for you guys?

It works to the point where it will keep you alert if you are already awake.

It's not going to get rip van winkle up and off his ass though. It's just kinda like eating a lot of candy. If you are tired enough, it won't matter that you are drinking it.

It tastes like crap too. Like smarties in water.

its alright i like the taste of Sobe and teh Mt Dew one better. they all work teh same

now BAWLS on the other hand is good sh!t and it really works

It works if caffeine works for you.

If you don't like redbull, just invest in a coffee maker.

Red Bull tastes just fine. It's the aftertaste that'll make you want to vomit. Just drink Jolt Cola if you can still find it.

I've never tried it but I went to the website to check out the ingredients and it's pretty simple.

If you want to drink it because you enjoy the taste ... well, I can't help you there.

If you are drinking it for the caffeine-effect then you would be much better off picking up some caffeine pills at your local drugstore/health food store and popping one with some fruit juice or whatever. You would get the same effect and you would save your money and be happy that you didn't get suckered into spending big dollars on an "energy" drink. Like drinking at the bar. You don't drink there because the alcohol is cheaper - people drink there because of the whole bar experience. A terrible way to justify 50 bucks down the drain IMO.

Anyways, synthetic caffeine usually comes in bottle of 100s at 200mg which is a bit stronger than your average strong coffee. Works very well and it only costs ~6-7 bucks a bottle.

Besides, do you fall asleep in class because you don't get enough sleep/stay up too late on ATOT? Or do you have a sleep disorder like sleep apnea? Sleep disorders are very common in reality. Most of it goes undiagnosed which is really too bad. It's kind of backwards to be popping pills or consuming energy drinks to keep up your energy to counteract a possible sleep disorder.

Aren't caffeine pills more dangerous? I remember used to hearing people not wanting to take caffeine pills 'cause of their addiction factor. I'd imagine it'd be hard to drink lots of red bull but easy to swallow lots of pills :\

overpriced cr@p. they are just taking your money.

a vivarin if you need pure caffine. brew some coffee and chug it. for the price of a redbull you can brew a lot of coffee😛 not to mention theres a limit to the effectiveness of caffine anyways.

It's not bad but I agree with 0roo0roo it's overpriced as sh*t and thus I rarely get it. Buy a box of caffeine pills if you want caffeine, or have a couple cups of coffee. There is nothing magical in redbull to denote the $2 price tag.

I tried it once after a tough practice... I did feel slightly less tired, but it took superhuman effort not to spew it back up. That stuff is nasty. I prefer Sobe Adrenaline Rush; it seems to give me a boost as well and tastes much much better.

I was fixing a PC at a bikeshop and the owner offered me one, way back when it was still in the grass roots 'spread the word' days. It tasted like cranberry soda or some really odd flavor... I didn't finish the can.

They definitely found the way to market a product though... for a drink that tastes so lousy they've managed to do very well. Props to them.
