So.... I used to post things in the FS forums on MSN. I put a couple laptops up along with my email address. A couple days later I get an email from someone saying they are interested. They start talking to me on MSN messanger just like anyone else would, but then they tell me they are from Jordan. Figures! They then say that they would rather get just a few parts for laptops because shipping would be too much for a whole laptop. The whole time after they say they are from Jordan I am just thinking to myself "how long until they try to screw me over?".
They ask me if I can get a battery for an R51... I say "sure, why not. $75 shipped" I totally pull that number out of thin air. But then I raise the question as to how they would send me payment since there is no Paypal in Jordan. He said "I'll send you a money order, I just need your bank account number" LOL!!!! Does he think I'm that dumb? I went off on him and then blocked him.
So this morning I got another email from him saying "why were you rude to me? I really want to proceed with this deal. Just give me your credit card number." WTF?!?!?! You've got to be kidding? Does he really think ANYONE would just up and say.... "ok... my credit card number is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I'm a stupid moron! Please rob me blindly!" COME ON!!

That is my rant for the day :)

Anyone ever found themselves in a similar situation?
I once got one of those money orders in the mail that people are always trying to send and have you send the extra back via western union. It was for like $3600. I laughed it off and threw it away.

Wait a minute. He wants to "buy" something from you, yet wants YOUR cc #? It may be the lack of coffee this morning, but why would a person who is paying you ever need your cc #?

well even if only one in a million people are stupid enough to fall for this, that means there are still 6,420 people who will be suckered. obviously you're not one of them, but there are many people who don't know any better.

I guess I don't understand how it isn't common sense to not give your CC# to a complete stranger!

I need your CC# so I can send you one for free. That said I need your address and the CCV # from the back of card to make sure it's really you. :p
