Just installed the Blu-ray ROM drive. Try to play a movie, and it says there is an error. Ran the damned CyberLink BD/HD Advisor crap, and it says there is an error with the video connection type.

monitors: 2 x ViewSonic VX922
GPU: Nvidia 260
RAM: 8gb
CPU: E6400
mobo: Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

running Vista x64.

What the hell is preventing me from playing a movie? The fact that I'm pushing to the monitors with a digital cable??? WTF?

If the monitors and vid card aren't HDCP compliant, the Blu-ray video won't play over DVI or HDMI. Go analog VGA and it will play fine. You could also use certain programs (cough . . . AnyDVD) to work around the HDCP lockouts.

Edit: Your monitors are most likely the problem. They first came out in 2005 and HDPC monitors were almost unheard of at that point.
