I'm glad driving is a fvcking game... no wonder there is so much glass and car parts all over the roads.

Another game is to see how many times you can alternately touch the lane dividers in a minute.

How about when driving on a highway, and approaching a merging ramp, move over to the far left lane to allow people to merge without difficulty.

This one is a judgment call for me. If there is noone else around you, then yes, moving over would benefit both you and the merger (but you still don't have to if you don't want to).

I would disagree with moving over and slowing down the fast lane of traffic just so someone can merge onto the road. The key is the person merging wants to be on the road, but is not entitled to it, hence the yield signs. They must wait patiently.

I do this all the time. I've been playing the game since I've been first driving. I'm a wizz at it.

From what I've seen, that's far too challenging for most people. They might have to put down their cell phone!! :Q

What are these 'turn signals' you mention? I don't know about where you guys drive - but around here thats a sure way to get someone to speed up and cut you off. I perfer to give my victums as little warning as possible.

Or....just for fun, use hand signals

Considering about 90% of the drivers around here fail at one or both of the above, it does seem to be pretty difficult.

Officer: What happened?
You: Well I was avoiding those reflector thingies, and I hit the semi...
Officer: ... wtf?
You: I didn't hit any reflectors though! Did I win?
Officer: :disgust::|

I do it all the time... no problem. Most people turn the wheel towards the lane they want to move into, then hold the wheel straight until they have entered the lane, then turn the wheel the other way to go straight again. This is slow and you almost always hit the reflectors.

It's easier if you think of it as a calculus problem: hold the wheel in the direction you want to turn till you are 50% into the other lane (point of inflection), then counter steer. You can figure out the rest...

I do it all the time too. If you're a good observant driver, it is no problem at all.

I do it all the time. The trick isn't to try to swerve in between the reflectors quickly. You should to a nice slow, even, text book merge across them and plan your move about 5 seconds ahead of where you are. It becomes rediculously easy if you plan ahead instead of jerking the wheel. Make it a nice easy merge into the next lane (as you're supposed to do) and not a "turn" into the lane.

i have enough trouble not running over your import econoboxes who love to drive in my big american truck's blindspot.
I'm not turning my head all the way around risking running into the car in front of me to check that one tiny spot if someone is stupid enough to be drving there.
alas ive had people so stupid as to slow down when i slowed down to try and get passed them being there

You beginners. Lane changing is the official sport of NJ. I can back-forth the 8-lane exit grid on the GW Bridge in my sleep, just for fun.

Uh people I think we're comparing Botts Dots from non-snow states, to widely spaced reflectors in northern states.

While you're at it, you should play another challenging game: How far in can you go before swerving right to an offramp or highway split? (narrowly missing the water barrels)
