Next time you are merging lanes be it in the city or on the highway. Try merging into the other lane without your tires running over any of the imbeded reflectors on the road. I think I've done it maybe 1/10 times or so.

That's a pretty good way to make other drivers wary of your driving abilities....

I thought you were going to suggest actually matching speed with the lane you wanted to enter. That'd be a novel idea. Oh and add turn signals to the equation and you have a real challenge!

... I, on the other hand, have never had an accident and I am a decent driver, but I have no pretense that I am some awesome driver just because I play Grand Turismo every once in a while.![]()

I've tried it while changing lanes on the interstate at 80mph....brrrrrppppp. Didn't make it.
I do that all the time when I switch lanes on trips from Chicago to Rapid City. I almost never miss. Maybe they're spaced farther apart out here.Originally posted by: platinumike

When you and the car you're about to pass are the only ones on the road it isn't exactly dangerous. The only difference between that and "normal" lane changing is when you decide to move over. You don't have to do it any faster/slower. It's exactly the same.Originally posted by: 2Xtreme21
That's also a pretty good way of getting yourself killed. I think the last thing I'm worrying about when changing lanes, especially when there are a bunch of cars around you, is whether or not I'm going to hit the reflector on the road.
