Okay try this experiment.

Stick your index and middle finger slightly into your nostrils. Squeeze the part that separates the nostrils (the two holes)and then take a sniff. What do you smell?

Update: Don't completely close off your nostril, slightly put both your fingers into your nose and only slightly squeeze the separator between the nostrils and take a sniff.

ohh sorry buddy. Try rolling up three sheets of toilet paper and roll it up, wet it down, squeeze the water out and stick it up your nose. That should stop the bleeding nose.
