Will a IDE ata66 HD drag down the performance of my scsi cheetah running off a adaptec card ??
It seem to ..... but it might be between my ears 🙂

Pete

very much doubt it! 😕
perhaps you should benchmark both drives & post back.
I assume that you have a terminator at the end of the lvd cable with the hdd on the next connector.

No
But where is you swap file? Do you have lots of RAM is DMA turned on for your IDE drive?
I have that setup at home as well I LUV IT, nothing like firing up the MP3's Internet browser and Napigator all at once!

Yep, the term and hd is installed right on the cable, 390ram, dma turned on the ide....hummm, swap file..havn't thought of that.
I have w2k in a 4gig c: partition and apps in the other 5giger d: and haven't done anything about the swap file. What would yu suggest??

Pete

PS: almost forgot, what program do yu suggest to run bench tests on hd's ??

Thx
