Try or take antidepressants?

talked to a work shrink a few years ago and they were asking me if I wanted to take them. they wouldn't recommend them or not recommend them. they wanted to leave it up to me. what the heck is up with that? I wish the doc would let me make such decisions with regard to painkillers. 🙂
 
antidepressants != pain killers. also we know nothing about your condition or lack thereof. antidepressants can be useful in some situations, let's just put it that way.
 
As someone who was formerly heavily depressed (hey, weren't we all?), I don't think there's anything antidepressents do that you can't do for yourself. However, if you don't want to put forth the mental effort, antidepressents are an easy way out.
