I disagree. I've gotten major hangovers from Popov mixes and shots as compared to zero with higher quality stuff.
agreed x3.
give me Svedka or give me death!

It's so cute that you believe that.
I like me some vodka, but I haven't bought any in a while. Last purchase was some Stoli several months ago.
Anybody ever try Jewel of Russia? That's some good stuff.
That statement makes no sense. Straight up means in a glass with nothing else. On the rocks means add a few ice cubes. They are mutually exclusive.
Oh and on topic I also believe that most vodkas taste the same, but some of the cheaper brands (popov, banff ice) tend to leave me with a hangover if I drink too many, while if I drink smirinoff or any of the top shelf brands I wake up feeling great.
I'll put it this way. I have a very difficult time holding down a shot of Popov. If I do, i usually can't drink anything else for the night as the gag reflex is too strong. Weenie that I might be, I can't stand the stuff. Couldn't do it in college, can't do it now. If you're REALLY into horrific alcohols i'd suggest trying Conquistador tequila. You can brag about how cheap and awesome that is while i enjoy my non gag-inducing liquors.
Have you ever tried testing yourself and seeing if you can actually taste the difference? Various vodkas should be chemically identical: 40% Ethanol in water.
some vodkas have a thicker taste than others.
What would give one vodka a thicker taste than another?
Vodka is supposed to be a neutral spirirt. I wonder how many could distinguish between unflavored vodkas if they were blindfolded? (I don't really drink enough vodka to have an opinion one way or the other...)
I like Tito's. Better than Grey Goose at half the price.
