I'm looking at buying this case:
RAIDMAX "Scorpio 868"

But I'm a little hesitant to trust a stock 420W PSU, especially considering the package's budget price. Anyone have experience with RAIDMAX stock PSUs? Any unqualified opinions? ^_^

I guess you always have to worry about original equipment PSUs these days considering the low package prices. The +12V rail rating seems quite low to me (I'd like to see 15A or more), but probably OK in a lightly loaded system (not many drives).

Here're the things I'm planning on putting inside:
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton" w/ Thermaltake Silent Boost (plan on oc'ing the Barton)
2x512meg Corsair Dual DDR400
Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Mobo
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600XT
Western Digital SATA 7200rpm 120G HD
Sony CRX230E CD-RW

My guess is that this would be considered a relatively light load on the PSU. However, it's always better to have an informed opinion. So what do you think? Go with the stock? I don't plan on really adding very much in the future, maybe a sound card depending on how much I like the A7N8XE's onboard sound.

you don't have very demanding parts. i figure you'd be ok with that generic 420W. piece of mind is priceless .. if you feel shaky get a quality name brand psu.

my friend has a no name 350W PSU in his case and he is running

P4 1.4GHZ
2x256 PC2100
Radeon 9600
3 x hard drives
1 x CDRW
4 x 80 mm case fans.

hasn't had a problem
