Trump will be the President that will cause the GOP to lose its lock on the military vote. Families who have lost loved ones to war prefer quiet respect to propaganda. Even Rolling Thunder, which I’ve supported and attended, given its size and scope, is still a solemn affair devoid of politics.

I am disappointed that veterans who no longer wear the uniform but are in positions of power and influence are not calling him out. He’s already crossed the line several times in his lack of respect towards McCain.

A draft dodger is in no position to make Memorial Day about him.

On this topic, we as veterans do need to challenge what Trump is doing. The hand ringing is frustrating because most of these posters will go back to forgetting about veterans and soldiers once Trump is out of office and “the resistance” is over, but that doesn’t change the fact that Trump is being disrespectful in making Memorial Day about himself.
