Seems to me this is a huge insult to everyone involved. Hes basically calling every unarmed person there a coward.
Exactly this.
All we have to do is look at real life situations to get a sense of how people react.
Look at some of these mass atrocities and see how many people become paralyzed with fear.
From an event I've discussed before, i had a friend
executed during a mass shooting. One by one the victims were lined up and shot in the back of the head.
Why did they not fight back? They could see what was coming. Why did they not attack the killer when they saw the others being killed and themselves in line? Why not run for it? My friend was athletic and able, but it did him no good.
Fear, panic and hope/delusion there is some other way out. Terrified beings become compliant.
It's fanciful to think we'd do something different, but there are plenty of real examples to prove it doesnt work that way.
It's dangerous when the person making policy is so ungrounded from how things actually work.
That's how you get such stupid ideas like having teachers carry guns as a real solution.
