So we're all on a level playing field then, everyone is acknowledging that Iran or North Korea will never comply, the U.S. will withdraw, and the EU and other nations will do whatever is best for their pocketbooks. Now that the fig leaf bullshit is out of the way, by all means proceed to make another "deal."

So what you are say is that the dealmaker president can make no deals because other people are bad when we break our word.

Except of course that all available evidence indicates that Iran was complying, which is why everyone agrees withdrawing from the agreement is stupid.

On that note did you get a chance to share the source of your analysis that you apparently consider superior to that of the most powerful intelligence communities in the world?

His source is the Dubya administration circa 2002.

Non-binding deal is non-binding deal. Another Obama "accomplishment" goes up in smoke...there now seems to be very little left of Obama's legacy.

It's weird that he just made up a lie about the agreement that flies in the face of all available evidence. As far as I can tell yes, it's based solely on his feelings, haha. Even weirder was when he then decided everyone agreed with his lie.

Glenn's a strange guy. He's clearly reasonably smart but he's so overcome with rage that it often gets in the way of using his brain.

Because that’s what’s important to the right no matter the cost.

Its frankly bizarre how much stock Republicans put in trying to erase Obama's legacy and how ineffective they've been at it. Their attempts to repeal his legacy have almost entirely failed yet they seem to have convinced themselves of the opposite. lol. My guess is it's a combination of wishful thinking and ignorance of how government works.

In this case though yes, Trump can definitely undo a significant part of Obama's legacy. It's odd that anyone would view that as a good thing though considering leaving this deal does literally nothing to advance US interests. I think we can all agree that this action is incredibly stupid purely on the merits. The thing is of course that Republicans are run by feels, not reals, so if they can get revenge on Obama it's worth it to hurt the US.

That's all Dump cares about. Regardless of how many wars he has to start. I hope you're ready to break out another trillion or two.

Well what's the plan after he cancels it? You think it's wise to cancel something when you don't have something to take care of the problem when you do? Like quitting your job without any money and no jobs in site. Do you recommend that?

They are currently abiding by it this is no different than Bush taking us to war with no plan for afterwards. Or do you think the 2nd gulf war was good. Because 3 thousand plus americans and over 100,000 civilians died and for what?

I guess it off to war than. I mean what is the other alternative?

Why would Iran do any new deal with the US now, much less one that’s less favorable to them? We signed the previous deal when we had maximum leverage over Iran. That leverage is gone now.

It will be interesting to see what the Europeans are able to do without the US but we just gave Iran a get out of jail free card.

I'm honestly not sure. The only thing I can come up with, is the idea that he might be doing a Crazy Ivan which he apparently likes to do. The problem with that is the rational reaction is to forgo any future planning to see how thing sill turn out. Further, it has been the norm to not undo what was done previously because it would undermine current negotiations that would be long term. N.K. was a different situation where his tactics had a much better chance, but here, with Iran, it seems very stupid.

My big fear is that he is clearing the way for S.A. and Israel to go to war with Iran. What a horrific perfect setting for a global conflict.

Do you have reason to not believe Israel's huge dog and pony show regarding Iran's nuclear weapons program?
Is there a solid write up somewhere to detail the shade you want to throw on that "evidence"?

The huge dog & pony show was about Iran's efforts abandoned in 2003, 15 years ago. In no way did it show that Iran has violated the JCPOA.

It's like "OMG! They kept the records!"

No shit, Sherlock.

Actually think this presents a better opening for NK to totally work over the US in the negotiations. We're gonna get shafted hardcore by NK/China in whatever deal gets done and they'll make sure it's irreversible.

Why would they negotiate at all with a party who won't honor their commitments?

Choosing policy based on spite is a great way to go. I guess the GOP calls that winning! So much winning! You're such a pathetic hack.

Conservatives hated this deal and were vocal as hell about it....but negotiating a horrible deal was much more important to the left no matter the cost. There shouldn't be any surprises here.

Castles made of sand slip into the sea, eventually.

Fuck this was actually addressed when that shit show was put on. Its all rehashed intel from before the deal was made. Notice they did NOT provide evidence of Iran violating the current agreement.

Your EVIDENCE of Iran not complying is what? Suddenly you've moved the goal posts to include NK. Back up and deal with your original BS first please.

To extract insanely favorable terms that will be difficult or impossible for the US to claw back once we complete the destruction of our influence.
