Listening to a fascinating interview with the author of a new book:
White House, Inc.: How Donald Trump Turned the Presidency into a Business
This guy has profiled Trump way before he was President, as part of his job tracking the world’s richest people at Forbes. So apparently he tracked down over 100 business entities owned by Trump and staked out his real estate holdings (even renting office space himself) in order to track down new tenants and how much Trump was earning while in office.
Among his findings—the government of Qatar rented office space in one of Trump’s most valuable office buildings in San Francisco—shortly after Trump and MBS accused Qatar of sponsoring terrorists in 2017. That was just part of a vast lobbying effort Qatar undertook to repair their image. Within 6 months, Trump was hosting the Emir of Qatar at a state dinner and everything was cool again.
All told, Dan Alexander documented hundreds of tenants (including the federal government) that had Donald Trump as their landlord and paid millions to Trump org while Donald was President—including some tenants with significant conflicts of interest before the Administration or Justice Dept.
