Trump wants to create a MAGA party

Defeated Trump wants to set up a MAGA party to punish Republicans who voted to impeach him.

This is in line with Fox News' Sean Hannity who is demanding any Republican who didn't fully back Trump to face primary challenges.

'Tis another great day!

Yes, that would be awesome for democrats if it actually happened. The problem is that it won't happen, because Trump is obviously bluffing. He is just using this threat to convince GOP who have turned on him to get back in line.

I mean, think about it. What would be the upside for Trump? He knows that neither he, nor any of his family, nor any candidate he backed could ever win office in such a party. Hence, it has to be a bluff. It's just another threat of retaliation against those he perceives as disloyal, but this particular threat is not one he's ever likely to carry out.

It can readily be structured like the Tea Party, a faction within the GOP. It's not like the GOP will exclude them from the caucus. It would be a lucrative grift & an effective mechanism of extortion.

Yes, but then it wouldn't be the political party that democrats wish for.

If Trump wants to intimidate "disloyal" republicans, does he back primary challengers within the party, or try to run a third party candidate against him in the general election? The choice is obvious. Which is why the repubs who are bucking him right now should know that another political party is an empty threat but the primary challenge is not.

So it will never happen by Trump's fiat. However, some crazies on the far right might think it's a good idea and form it on their own. Hard to say how much impact it would have in that scenario.

Don't worry guys, history says a new party will form and something better will emerge. That could mean a trump party which won't last long and a better saner GOP could emerge or it could be that the GOP dies and something better comes out.

Either way, Democrats need to focus on the country and not give in to coddling snowflakes.

It may be a classic case of Trump's all-talk-no-action bluster, so I'd be cautious.

With that said, if Trump did form a party and ended up splitting the conservative vote, it would be a hilarious kind of poetic justice. The GOP's punishment for siding with Trump would be to lose federal elections (and possibly more state ones, too) for years to come.

I keep using the example, but the GOP really is like Thanos. It was so obsessed with short-term goals that it made a choice which might cost... everything.

I agree, he's bluffing .... Will this be an actual party or a chance to sell his MAGA party hats, coffee cups, teddy bears, commemorative coins and other assorted junk and trinkets. Trump is not a particularly good con man. He can only con the ignorant gullible easy marks. This worked somewhat well for him in his business career, where he could focus on grifting the easy marks and not bother anyone else. Most of us figured that anyone who decided to do business with Donald Trump deserved whatever problems they experienced as a result. Trump’s problems really started when he decided to switch over to politics. His ability to con the gullible served to get him nominated and the Republican political machine got him elected. But he was no longer somebody who could be ignored. And his incompetence, lies and grifting was no longer tolerable.

History will have its revenge on Trump. If he had stayed out of politics, he might have been vaguely remembered as a semi-successful shady businessman and reality show star. But now he will be remembered as somebody who was a complete failure as President.

Trump doesn’t think like this. He lashes out.
Those people upset and offended him, he will have his revenge.
Sounds dumb but it really is that simple.

Pretending to lose the election was part of his master plan to get the evil baby eaters to feel safe so he could continue to gather evidence for the storm. He is really still the president and was sworn into office by Clarence Thomas.

I love people saying "FUCK YEAH! GREAT IDEA! This will totally fuck over the repubitards lolol"

These are the same incompetent fools who said "LOL Donald Trump running for President PLZZZZZZZZ DOOOOOOOOO IT LOL! PLEAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!!!"
