Oh and the real price to end homelessness is probably negative dollars per year in terms or government budgets.
Which is why the Government of California should end private ownership of houses and land, level the chaos of urban sprawl, and build scientifically designed cities and limit population growth to achieve a balance with nature. End this:

The guy who says ‘taxing me at the same level as my neighbor is tyranny’ also thinks we should do…well… all that above.

But you hate yourself a lot more than he does and you want to inflict that same pain in society by.... Providing shelter for people

If you want people to have houses as opposed to living in tents under an overpass all you’re doing is making them live like rats.

They will all be happier under the overpass because they realize the real answer is a realignment of humanity’s priorities.

By the way I would love to see Moonbeam go tell the homeless that he’s doing them a favor because otherwise they would live like rats.

Thread topics can metastasize, it seems. Eventually every thread will be a zoning and housing debate.

I mean, Democrats want to house people... Trump wants to execute them.
I guess either way our streets are clean, eh? After they wash the blood away...

Up to the voters to decide which they value more. The party of Homes or the party of Bullets.
Shame we don't quite frame it that way on national TV. But if Trump wants to paint himself, and Republicans in that corner, we must help them with that imagery.

I believe taxes should all be Federal and progressively based on income above the poverty level.

The reason that Trump calls for public executions is because competition creates hate and competition is what capitalism is based on. So how to you satisfy your desire to be victorious is a capitalist system, having become the kind pf psychopath it tends to produce. It's very simple. Tell people you will provide them with a target onto which they can dump all that repressed rage. The masses of the sick and the aggrieved will flock to your door. You can do the same when you promise them the mansions on the hillsides instead of the Favela.

Supply and demand. If you want to manipulate the vacuum emotional state of self haters, offer them a dream that they will really be somebody if they can get behind this or that dream products wheel. But first you have to see yourself in that Cadillac. We only go around once so grab all the gusto you can. Need is a head implant that supply can never fill, but will make a lot of money trying. Hurry, for a limited time you can get two for the low low price of one.

All we have to do is subdivide and subdivide and then build up. Millions of people in their own little cells like batteries in a Tesla battery pack.

The governments that have killed the most of their citizens were generally not capitalist.

Like all systems of enlightenment, they are taken over by ego greed, when there is no conscious force feeding that enlightenment. Always the psychopaths will seek to control the sources in a society that have either power of force, government and police or power of respect, churches and philanthropy. The objective is to use force or pretense to shield the ego from humiliation from its own ugliness.

This leaves the citizens of an enlightened constitutional government less generally infected than in a totalitarian failed society.

No he wants to waste his time on a solution his already densely populated city wants to reject and my city has been practicing extensively. We have been adding multi million dollar condos and 4000 dollar a month rentals for years and there's not a homeless person to be seen.

The rich get richer and the poor flee to avoid arrest.

I bet your town hasn’t met its state housing quota ever. The good news is finally the state government has woken up and soon you will lose control of the ability to ban housing.

Are we finally giving some teeth to the housing requirement? Last I heard, there was no way to enforce it.

There is this one piece of legislation pending, which only addresses a problem in SF, which is the only city where residents can object to a housing project and slow it down after all permits have been approved. This bill stops that practice.

Yes, it’s slow but it’s getting there. Recent legislation has made it way easier for developers to apply the builder’s remedy for cities that are out of compliance with state housing mandates. This basically means all zoning laws are suspended.

It’s still in its infancy but the writing is on the wall.

I also saw this, looks like the legislature is moving forward with a plan to cut back CEQA, which is also a favorite NIMBY tool.

It took a massive crisis of homelessness but finally it looks like the legislature is tired of this shit.

There are plenty of editorials on it, but I haven't seen anything indicating they're going to cut if back just yet.

This one discusses, among other things, the fact that residents are making it nigh impossible for UC Berkely to expand enrollment and admit more students, because they are objecting to the dormitories they want to build. They have gotten a CA court to agree that social noise from college kids partying is an environment impact. Think about what an awful precedent that is. Anyway, these NIMBY's aren't only hurting housing, they are also harming higher education in the state.

I am not sure if I have all of this straight but this is what I was able to find. The city has submitted a draft to the state that meets its (the state's) requirements.

because competition creates hate
Competition also creates teamwork, comradery, and respect.

That was the whole point of grade school and high school sports.

Associating losing with hate is considered an indicator of a sociopathic spectrum personality ...

Regardless, most people do not associate losing with hate.

In the world populated by people who hate themselves, whose natural dignity was shattered in childhood, the world of the walking wounded that I see around me, the modus operandi is to suck and suck.
Childhood trauma and self hatred are also associated with sociopathy.

In fact, childhood trauma is one of the thing that differentiates a sociopath from a psychopath.

There are treatments that can help mitigate* the damage and allow damaged people to live much more fulfilling and satisfying lives.

*a broken pot may always be broken, but when glued together it will still hold water and make a home for something beautiful. Why suffer needlessly?

Boy, wait until you hear about the 2020 election....
Politics and seizing power in this nation is not exactly related to high school sports.
After a game you can go home. The outcome does not control every waking moment of your life. Of your human rights.
Try ceding all power in this country to your political enemy, and tell me how losing is not associated with hate.

Saying an election was stolen is NOT going to lead them to rainbows and puppies.
