The reality is that the American people deserve this shutdown, because they didn't punish GOP after the last one. Hopefully this one lasts long enough and bites hard enough that this lesson is finally learned, and then we can move on.

I suspect the Dems know better than we about Mueller's progress. It's painful to wait, but if Mueller has evidence of criminal actions by Trump, especially related to Putin it's going to be harder for Mitch to get the Rep Senators to put their heads in the noose for 2020.

Trump is the ultimate authority in classification. He can say anything he likes to anyone at any time. That's how the Presidency works.

However, if Trump were to intentionally put Congressmen at risk and then they were killed, Trump could face treason charges.

Heads of the FBI and the DOJ thought they could use Mueller to force a resignation from Trump before the news of the real corruption/collusion broke. Any other person besides Trump would have folded to the pressure. Mueller has nothing and after Bruce Ohr's testimony, things are going to start getting rough for former members of the FBI and DOJ. You can call it "Faux" news all you want but pressure is going to build and I doubt it's going to be free immunity to the first 10000000 customers like it was under Obama.

I suggest you read the latest. It seems that Trump ordered Cohen to lie to Congress about Moscow. That would be a High Crime. It seems a bit odd that the FBI would announce an investigation of Clinton if they were trying to use Mueller. I'd say it wouldn't happen as you suggest.

Its not derangement if there is cause. Leaking information NPs congressional delegation is going to fly commercial intentially puts their lives at risk.

I certainly don't "worship" anybody...we should all view these people as civil servants (emphasis on "servant") that WE elect. They should not be heroes or gods. Most of the expertise and work is and should be done by layers of experts that they hire (and choosing the best of these should be their primary qualification.)

Saying "fuck em all" leaves us where exactly? We may be finding out in a few months if this shutdown continues. The system may suck, but it's what we have. Throwing up hands and whining about how both sides suck is how we got this fraud in the first place. I may not like Hillary, and I think the GOP opposition would have LOVED having her as president, but at least she can function in government. I consider us fortunate that we haven't been in nuclear war by now with this ego-driven know-nothing at the helm.

There could be a bill, and then law (that puts some real legal power behind the emoluments clause) that forbids any legislators and outside interests (that seek legislative favor) from using taxpayer/federal funds (so, reimbursements) to patronize property (restaurants, hotels, resorts. golf courses, etc) that are owned by elected or appointed Administration or Legislative members.

I don't think you can dictate how such outsiders spend their personal money to bribe shitstains like Trump, but at least remove the power of Trump and his criminal family to pay themselves with Tax payer dollars by flying themselves and the SS all around the country to Trump resorts and eating Trump restaurant hermberders.
