Mixed Messages with Haley denouncing Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Then again, from the guy who said, "Words. Just words."

Yes, let's not forget this easing of sanctions helps a major Democratic donor....Apple. What are your Democrats saying about this? Are they outraged?

National Security? What's that? Let's just frame it in terms of domestic politics... See! All better!

Just another freak out thread about much to do about nothing.

Senator McCain added, "our initial look at it is it's a largely technical fix."

Oh, uhh, those sanctions, Vlad? We didn't mean it. Honest! We'll just put in a technical fix for you...

This has zilch to do about National Security as the sanctions were not lifted. A small amenendment allows businesses to acquire the permits for importing their goods to Russia.

And what do the Russians get?

Shush with your logic here, we need to immediately get the pitchforks and go into outrage mode without even understanding what we're talking about, for the simple fact that it's Trump doing this dammit!!1!11!#@

Took awhile to get the talking points out I see.

FSB can demand these companies do what FSB asks of them if they want access to the Russian market.

New Rules in China Upset Western Tech Companies

HONG KONG — The Chinese government has adopted new regulations requiring companies that sell computer equipment to Chinese banks to turn over secret source code, submit to invasive audits and build so-called back doors into hardware and software, according to a copy of the rules obtained by foreign technology companies that do billions of dollars’ worth of business in China.

The new rules, laid out in a 22-page document approved at the end of last year, are the first in a series of policies expected to be unveiled in the coming months that Beijing says are intended to strengthen cybersecurity in critical Chinese industries. As copies have spread in the past month, the regulations have heightened concern among foreign companies that the authorities are trying to force them out of one of the largest and fastest-growing markets.

In a letter sent Wednesday to a top-level Communist Party committee on cybersecurity, led by President Xi Jinping, foreign business groups objected to the new policies and complained that they amounted to protectionism.

The groups, which include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, called for “urgent discussion and dialogue” about what they said was a “growing trend” toward policies that cite cybersecurity in requiring companies to use only technology products and services that are developed and controlled by Chinese companies.

The only reason Russia is such a convenient bogeyman is because it doesn't have a hold of your greedy corporations by the balls like China does, and your brainwashed cheaper is better consumer that is always looking for a deal to make up for their ever decreasing outsourced paycheck.

The Great Debate
China threatens sanctions against U.S. companies: Is this the future?
China’s recent threat to impose sanctions on U.S. defense companies that sell arms to Taiwan should come as no surprise to American officials or corporate executives: Washington has been issuing sanctions of these sorts for years. It was only a matter of time before U.S. competitors started copying its tactics.

Regardless of whether China follows through on its threat, Washington needs to be ready for a new normal in which the United States must defend against sanctions as well as impose them.

China is taking a page from the sanctions playbook Washington developed against Iran. Between 2010 and 2015, the United States effectively gave companies a choice: If they did prohibited business with Iran, like buying oil, they would get cut off from doing any business in the United States. Forced to choose between access to the world’s most important financial system and an Iranian market less than 1/30th the size, most companies stuck with Washington and avoided Tehran.

China’s threat mirrors this approach — trying to force U.S. companies to choose between defense sales to Taiwan and access to a Chinese economy that is nearly 20 times larger. While U.S. companies do not currently sell military equipment to China, many U.S. defense contractors do sell civilian passenger aircraft, aviation parts and other civilian equipment in China and could find their ability to continue those sales cut off by Beijing.

China threatens to cut sales of iPhones and US cars if 'naive' Trump pursues trade war

“If Trump wrecks Sino-US trade, a number of US industries will be impaired. Finally the new president will be condemned for his recklessness, ignorance and incompetence,” the newspaper said in an editorial.

The Global Times claimed any new tariffs would trigger immediate “countermeasures” and “tit-for-tat approach” from Beijing.

“A batch of Boeing orders will be replaced by Airbus. US auto and iPhone sales in China will suffer a setback, and US soybean and maize imports will be halted. China can also limit the number of Chinese students studying in the US.”

“Making things difficult for China politically will do him no good,” the newspaper warned.

Did you not learn anything from all the fake news over the past year?? Don't just assume something is true just because someone or the media says it is.

Alright, I'll be cautious. If there is a recording, it'd be great to hear it... not that it's about to be declassified any time soon.

So what?

Meanwhile, the day after the phone chat the fighting started up again in eastern Ukraine-

Putin claims the Ukrainians started it, of course, in order to gain sympathy from an American admin who's likely already sold them down the river...

Go figure, huh?

How does it help Apple? Are you aware that Russians can in no way afford iPhones? Russians are not rich people... are you not aware that the average person in Russia earns the equivalent of part-time minimum wage in the US? That's 7.50 an hour OG min wage, 20 hours a week.

How many iPhones could you afford on 7.50 an hour, 20 hours a week?

Maybe you should read up on how this amendment aids in the sale of phones and tablets.
