President Trump has ordered the declassification of a series of highly sensitive documents related to the Russia investigation, the White House announced Monday.

Under the order, classified parts of a surveillance application that allowed the FBI to monitor former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page will become public in addition to "all text messages relating to the Russia investigation" from former FBI Director James Comey and several other top federal officials

..
It is certain to fuel charges that the president is trying to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, which is looking into potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russia’s interference in the 2016 election — and whether Trump tried to obstruct federal investigators.

Better get your popcorn out, this is about to get interesting. Release it, the public should know. If the FISA warrants were wrongfully obtained the American public should know about it. This whole ordeal has to come to a conclusion one way or the other soon though.

It’s bullshit. He’s having them release very specific pages of the Page FISA warrant. If you want transparency the whole thing needs to be released or nothing.

This is just more smoke and red meat for the masses.

Yea, because this investigation into a presidents allegedly illegal activity has gone on much longer than...Waterga... nope that was 3+ years...
Whitewat... nope, that was 10 years... Benghaz...4 years...
It will be done when it's done. I want the fat fuck to be frogmarched out of the oval office, but that will never happen.
So is this investigation holding you up from something else? Why do you care how long it takes?

I mean it's pretty normal type presidenting to selectively release secret intelligence and internal DOJ info in a nakedly political bid to bolster your argument that the ongoing investigations into you, which have produced multiple guilty pleas and convictions, are improper.

I'm sure the declassified documents won't be cherry picked at all.

Also the timing isn't suspect at all either.

This is basically "Oh look, a squirrel".
LOL! I was thinking basically the same thing but more like this...

Agreed release it all. No reason to hold anything back.

Remember when Trump declassified information so that Nunes’ memo could be released and that turned out to be cherry picked bullshit?

Why would showing the American public documents about the rationale behind the FISA warrants matter for Mueller's investigation.
Seems they have this weird theory that if the investigation was started based on some mind numbing idea, it was base on false information, that all subsequently discovered illegal activity becomes null and void. Of course this is not a legal opinion, it's a political opinion.

  • Schiff also revealed that the FBI and DOJ had previously told him that the release of some of the materials would be a "red line" that must not be crossed because it may compromise sources and methods.
That's one issue. The purpose is to flood with irrelevant materials that Rudy and others will do the "there's a squirrel" routine even at the price of compromising current methods that law enforcement uses.

Because it's a PR ploy to discredit the investigation in the eyes of the public. I mean, truth isn't truth, is it? Certainly not when Trump gets done with it.

In additional to obstruction of justice I suspect Rosenstein will push back, setting himself up to be fired. Trump will claim insubordination.

If he’s impeached for collusion with the russians, I want to see him charged with treason...and executed.

I think the reason he actually paid attention to hurricane Florence is he was hoping for a decent distraction. Lord knows he doesnt give a shit about people losing homes and lives.

Probably not very hard. He'll probably handle it the way he handled Nunes' bullshit. Yeh, sure, the Trump mouthpieces will try to make a big deal out of nothing while Mueller works to make the most from some really big rats. Really big, and there are probably more we don't know about.
