It's about the "leaks" that exposed the treason and the lies.

If he "deals" with North Korea while sitting in front of fifty random people at an open-air dinner, is it really a leak?

Well Donald, I would think that it is people who imagine themselves patriots, perhaps much like Snowden, who feel that its their patriotic duty to air all your bull. But thats just me guessing...whaddaiknow..

Is anyone really surprised by this tweet? This is just Trumpism 101...he can never admit to any bad decision, such as appointing Flynn. He can never even posit that he or Pence were "lied to" as that would suggest it's easy to pull one over on him. He'll let his surrogates do that with the media, while attacking those who brought the truth to light. That's his only move here...

I think the past few weeks have been a series of painful revelations for Trump. That he doesn't have the ability to rule by edict and that the entire government apparatus is a large beast he can't control - and parts of the beast are out to get him.

they aren't coming "out of washington"

they are coming out of his administration. If that isn't enough to concern anyone about the incompetence of this administration (the accusation being that enough insiders are thoroughly concerned with what is going on, that they are leaking to keep the public informed), then such people are beyond hope.

Dude was quite happy when stolen emails were being leaked Sat in front of a room full of people conducting matters of national security. What's a little bit of leakage?

For Trump, it's never about his own behavior. It's always about the messenger. The world would be so much easier for him if no one ever reported what he actually said and did.

Conservatives think we're just being hysterical about this because we can't handle losing an election. No sense in arguing the point. Let's just wait and see. Evidence of Trump's complicity with Putin just keeps mounting. Today, more republicans in Congress are calling for an investigation. Eventually they won't have a choice. Anyway, the point is, we're eventually going to know who is right and who is wrong. This will not be kept under wraps forever.

It's entertaining how quiet the Teump supporters have gone the last 24 hours. Must still be waiting for the new talking points to download.

So, will Trump call for an investigation? Don't worry, they'll find the person who leaked the truth, and punish them. The real story isn't what Flynn did, it's that we found out about it. *facepalm*. I dunno; maybe it has something to do with a Commander in Chief who apparently learned all he knows about OPSEC from Maxwell Smart?

If this news never broke does anyone think Trump would have asked Flynn to resign?

Funny, when it was Podesta emails being leaked, the Russian hacking was not the real problem, the content of the leaked emails is what was important. Now that Trump administration finds itself on the other side of the fence, suddenly content doesn't matter, the only thing that's important is that these are "illegal leaks" that should not be happening. The hypocrisy is way too thick to be amusing anymore.

The REAL story here is the NYT reported a credible looking tweet from a faked Flynn account: https://forums.anandtech.com/thread...k-times-and-newsmax-repeat-fake-news.2499357/

Independents and conservatives all agree, only the leftards who're somehow to blame don't think so.

Assuming your NYT story is true, that happens sometimes to the best of news organizations with the strictest of safeguards. Again, assuming your facts are true, I'm sure the NYT will own up to it and issue a correction. But that isn't the same sort of fake news that Trump relies on and thrives on-totally made up stories meant to bolster your viewpoint. And the thought a correction coming from the bogus "news" outfits that Trump thrives on is laughable.

And independents and true conservatives are just like the vast majority of us, traumatized by how fast and how much Trump is destroying this once great nation. Our (former?) allies are just as worried. Trump's goal sure seems to be to burn the world down, at least by the way he is acting.

If you read down on the page, I pasted exactly what was printed, which was literally just a very mundane resignation tweet from the faked account, and removed pretty quickly.

Given the predictable conservative and "independent" response in the thread, this is exactly all that they've been waiting for. They really don't give a shit what happens to the country as long as they get a talking point, so I wouldn't say they're anything like the rest of the good or virtuous people.
