Anyway with bullet points pardon the pun:

  • Those in command are familiar with the UCMJ which covers duty to execute *lawful* orders. Firing on civilians was a no go before Trump said anything.
  • Not that Trump is less reprehensible for it but political responses by Presidents which result in killing babies has been the norm for generations. We don't give a shit if it happens although we might try to minimize their killing.
  • We have also had the military doing stupid things better suited for others. They aren't police, they aren't peacekeepers, they aren't for carrying water. The primary purpose for any armed service is to kill people and break shit. Troops are the hammer too often picked to be in situations that they are not trained or equipped to deal with and given vague mandates. That didn't begin with Trump but it needs to effing stop.
  • In conclusion, the military knows better than dumb ass Trump in that they shouldn't be there and this is a political stunt.

We all know that the military is forbidden by law to act as domestic law enforcement. They are not going down to the border and line up as a firing squad. I also highly doubt that any or many will even be armed. It will end up being a big nothing in the end. In actual use it is a big show for two purposes in my opinion.
1) To show the base where he stands on illegal immigration.
2) To hopefully deter this caravan from showing up at the border in mass or keep it to a minimum by giving them a reason to drop out while still in Mexico.

Somehow I don't think they're carrying cell phones with data to watch US news to hear what Trump is doing. Maybe they hear from locals in the larger towns they pass through.

Oh, are Americans gonna start caring about their support for baby-killers now? How many of us even care that this girl died last week because our administration is still supports a Saudi blockade on food and humanitarian aid going into Yemen? We're literally letting the Saudis slow starve the Yemeni to death.

Sorry American conservatives stop caring once the fetus is born. Until then its important enough to protest at clinics as long as the temp is above 60 and it isn't raining. After birth that kid better choose better parents and use those boot straps.

As for Yemen the truth is we have an administration that straight up doesn't give a shit about humans, just power. We've done an amazing job of continuing to erode our soft power and moral authority.
