  • Scott Pruitt is tasked with dismantling the EPA regulations.

Besides the climate change regs, he is interested in water regulations and standards for ground-level ozone pollution, haze, methane and more.

In other words, the environment is about to get a hell of a lot dirtier. I have strong doubts that any Trump voters really wanted the water/ozone/haze/methane pollution regs repealed but that appears what they will get.

Could be funny if EPA still wins the suit. I wonder if Mr. Pruitt knows that DoJ calls the shots in federal litigation?

I think this is one that Dems should try to dig in their heels and contest. It may be unsuccessful, but clean air and water are worth fighting for.

Putting an oil and gas puppet in charge of the EPA is going too far.

I presume he'll be focused on methane and water rules for fracking. Ironically his crusade against the clean power plan is pointless since we are going to hit the goals soon anyway. It's also not like auto companies are going to toss all their current and near future models if CAFE is lowered so not much soon on that front.

Copping a right winger's attitude? One way or another, Americans depend on each other. None of us are disposable.

I'll agree that a lot of people are walking into this eyes wide shut but they're more sinned against than sinners. They insist on learning the hard way which means a lot more people than just them will get it the hard way, unfortunately. They're victims of decades of relentless right wing propaganda.

Also a big Nelson "ha ha" to the coal industry and it's supporters. Any more drilling means more cheap natural gas so coal is totally fucked sooner rather than later.

These people that Trump is trying to get in his crib really is starting to smell like he's purposely going to sink the ship of state and make a killing off of it for himself and his fellow billionaires.

The whole purpose for why the Repubs have been calling for smaller gov't wasn't because they wanted a lean mean governing machine, they wanted to dismantle it and then reshape it into a tool for them to accomplish their wildest dreams of having a gov't of, by and for themselves.

With Trump being a card carrying fully qualified member of this cabal, it seems like this is their best opportunity ever to make it all come together.

I mean, just look at the who's who type guys that are just like him that he's wanting to stock his cabinet with and then having the very same kind of big business owned and sponsored folks who currently run the Legislature waiting in the wings to rubber stamp all of his choices and it really looks like the middle class and the poor is going to get taken to the cleaners big time, real big time.

But that's OK I guess, because the folks who voted for him got what they wanted. The problem with that is Trump and Company is going to give it to them (and the rest of us) in the form of sparsely scattered scatologically infested crumbs that for some odd reason smell like roses.

And we're all going to like it too, because we've all been conditioned to believe that something, anything at all is better than nothing.

Nope! I don't think the dems should be trying to save people who don't want to save themselves.

There is a reason why trump picked this guy right? He is after all the best pick and probably has the best brain.

Democrats obstructing is exactly what the repubs did btw.

F it after this Palin should have a role in this admin.

I think she deliberately torpedoed her chances by criticizing the Carrier deal. She was scared that he would actually put her in charge of something.

This was the collateral damage that I was deeply concerned with if he won. Very few people outside those heavily invested in big oil should be happy about this. The rest of us should be outraged. God help us, the environment and the pile of shit we leave our kids and grandkids.

I believe she was overqualified for any post in the Trump administration.

cant do anything about that can I?

The Chinese govt 5yr plan is heavily invested in green tech, so lucky you.

We will be clearing the way for them to own the 21st century energy technology while we are busy fighting the Saudis and Russians over the 20th.

Look its really very simple. If the environment wasn't such a LOSER it would take care of itself. It's so sad the environment is so weak we need to toughen it up a bit. The environment will be winning bigly once these job killing regulations are cancelled.
