Imagine that. The President of these here former United States is personally going after his enemies on an individual basis. He wants a list to pick and choose from. Hollywood celebrities that bad mouthed him with plain facts and truths being at the top of that list. Add to that, he's going after anyone at all that he thinks makes him look bad, of which he's doing a stellar job of it all on his own. All everybody's doing is simply pointing it all out.

The disassociation between what's right and wrong with that moron has him simplifying things down to whatever skullduggery it takes to make him the winner real or imagined is all that matters. There is no such thing as right and wrong in his distorted way of thinking. There is only "I get my way or else". He believes possessing morality, ethics and compassion for others makes them all losers and suckers. This is what he is infecting his followers with. This is their newfound religion. Lie, cheat and steal in the name of God of all things. Things can't be fucked up enough for these folks.

Isn't this the plot of Winter Soldier? Although I haven't seen evidence that these techbro chuckleheads are even as competent as Hydra was.

Am I the only one thinking, "there isn't one already?"...

Side note - I'm re-watching The X-Files.
It seems likely. Between social security and the IRS they already have pretty much everything. I like to think that warrants are required before random government people get to dig through the information, but that's just a little self deception to help preserve my sanity.

Actually government data was deliberately Balkanized by law back in the 70s. What the administration wants to do is illegal.

Yeah but then greenman and pcgeek would have had to look up that information and upon learning what you learned would have had to accept that what Trump is doing is illegal and totally against what republicans used to be concerned about for decades.

No, instead it’s much easier to just make random comments that don’t actually address the issue or further the discussion.

Such a database would be very useful if it were used appropriately and for good. Unfortunately once you add in the private sector a profit motive is introduced and there is absolutely zero good that can come from this. If we go the other way and this info is government controlled, we then must rely on congress for appropriate oversight and security and so long as both parties are heavily influenced by big money, that doesn’t seem like a good idea either.

instructing government agencies to share data with each other. The order has increased fears that the government is putting together a database to wield surveillance powers over the American public.

But from the article it is based on nothing but raw speculation of a database...

Yeah that's why you get Palantir involved, because just speculation.

Cutting 13 million people off from access to medical care: "well we just need to have some cost savings"
Giving Palantir $113 million for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ : "seems fine, don't know what you're worried about"

Natural evolution of something like Cambridge Analytica ... put an AI on top of it and you are ready to mass purge those voter rolls.
Also great for rounding up people purveying pornography (which includes "transgender ideology" for the Project 2025 people), and people who meet the conditions to qualify for RFK Jr's "wellness camps", why, there's all sorts of great uses a fascist authoritarian regime can put it to in order to secure the existence of their people and the future of white children!

I thought this was what that giant NSA data center in the Utah desert was all about.

There is a conspiracy theory about how the ultra wealthy want the ability to shut off your access to money if you say anything bad about them. We are very close to that becoming a reality.

Also, where is all the "slippery slope" and chinese social credit outrage from the right? We are quickly becoming russia and they are fine with it because surely that info won't be used against them or their families, or their friends. Right? Right?
