I wanted to see the information Trump was using from OANN. Took me a few minutes to find it. Found this informative Slate article that linked to twitter that has the OANN video. Putin must have sent him the video link.

Trump is a known echoer of crap he comes across which rings true based on his underlying biases. It's not even the biases which are the root problem. People who are hitched to him one way or another (even if they are Republican lay people who don't support Trump) need to regularly throw out there a condemnation of spreading political gossip.

Beyond that are the hypocrites. Where are the fake news folks now?

And...IIRC..It was written by one Kristian Brunovich Rouz, who has worked in the past for Sputnik, a Russian government-controlled news wire service.

Russia is basically controlling the emperor with no clothes in the Whitehouse. Openly.

This falls under the category of Trump behavior which has simply become exhausting. 11/3 can't come soon enough.

Frankly, I have mixed feelings about the media even reporting on stuff like this. It's bad enough that Trump amplifies a moronic conspiracy theory from a fringe right wing media outlet. It's another that it's now all over CNN, WaPo and other outlets. OANN's idiocy shouldn't have this kind of reach.

This is a valid point. By reporting on it (or even posting it here.... who the hell did that?!) the underlying result is that OANN's straight up fucking stupidity is being spread.

Yup. In another thread, I compared racism to a pathogen which spreads throughout populations. Conspiracy theories are no different.

Do not expose people to infection. It's a matter of protecting the mental health of the public.

I have nothing but contempt for any douche bag that still supports that shit stain. I know a couple, but have not seen them in months due to the virus, but if we happen to cross paths again I will simply tell them to fuck off and walk away. I will not waste my time on such stupid people.

A little tangent from the above discussion.

Trump's record number of tweets in a single day is a whopping 161. Trump has got to be tweeting at least 20x per day. How much time does that take? Let's say he spends 90 minutes tweeting every day.

Purportedly, he spends at least 2 hours per day watching television, mostly Fox News and other conservative outlets. This also feeds a lot of his tweets.

And how much time does he spend bloviating to reporters and crowds at his rallies over how he's the bestest bigliest POTUS in the history of the world?

And how much time does he spend convening with his friends and political allies over how to win the next election?

Then how much time is left over for him to actually do his job, as in, the job of governing the nation?

We know, for example, this his daily intelligence briefings are over and done with in a heartbeat because Trump has no attention span for any of it. And we know that he basically doesn't read anything at all. So....

People need to know what their President is saying/doing, even if it's batshit crazy. Otherwise he would begin to appear to actually be sane/reasonable.

So what we're seeing here is that not only has the President labeled the antifa bogeyman a terrorist organization that he wants hunted down by the military on American soil, but that he is eager to label anyone as a member of this antifa without any shred of evidence.
It's not hard to connect the dots here, people. This is what tyrants do when they're looking to violently suppress the free speech of their political opposition.

Yes, that's why I'm conflicted about it. I think if the news outlets feel a responsibility to report this shit, then they could at least put it on the back pages of their newspapers, and not on top with the big bold headlines on their websites.

At this point, almost everyone knows Trump is an insane asshole, and if they do not know this, they're never going to.

Actually I just check cnn and did not see it on their front page. It was on fox's.

Thankfully it sounds like Martin Gugino will pull through. Could he sue trump over the shit he is saying?

Hey now, not so fast. He did not say the 75 year old man is Antifa. He is just asking the question.

You know because dipshit always tells it like it is and never uses innuendo and snide remarks. Nope. He is a staight shooter that one.

If this 75 year old is ANTIFA, that just proves how the Right has become nothing more than pussified Man Babies under Trump. “OMG ANTIFA is coming! ‘SEND IN THE TROOPS’! Grab your AR-15s!! Boogaloo up!” Poor guy falls flat like cardboard in the wind and the Right are soooo scared!

Own it Trump apologists. This is what you are. Pussies scared of any geriatrics with the balls to stand up to a glorified SWAT team. At least he stood for something, even if he fell down. The spineless cowards worshipping Trump stand for nothing.

This is the thing. Let's assume what they are saying is actually true. What was the guy doing that was actually a threat to anyone? Waving his phone at them? What justifies pushing an old man to the pavement? If they had probable cause for an arrest, they could have done that.

This is one of the real problems we are facing as a nation. We have somehow gotten to the point where not immediately doing anything a cop tells you to is seen as a valid excuse for that police officer to assault or even kill you. If you happen to have had a criminal record then it is assumed you deserved it. If you are black you don't even need to the criminal record, being black in America is pretty equivalent to having a criminal record is a majority of people's minds.
