Well the drama queen finally signed it?
Under the rule of this strange-person, everything must be all drama. I can't wait until the day when we hear nothing from the president, who will then be Joe Biden. That day when we no longer must be tormented with hourly summarizations from the strange-person. The day when the sun rises and then sets and we can rest peacefully knowing president Joe Biden did the right thing, all on his own and all day long, never having assaulted another citizen, having kept America safe, and we will hear nothing about it because Joe Biden is not a drama queen. However.... be forewarned. America will go thru a period of withdrawal from Donald Trump much like an heroine addict suffers heroine withdrawal. Especially hard for Trumpies to go through, but democrats may also experience a difficult time. Like those movies where the girl is kept in a cage for weeks and months, then one day freed and having forgot what it was like to be free and normal. Donald Trump wrecked us all, more than we realize, both righties and lefties, and now must come the time of Donald Trump withdrawal. Just thought people should know.....

Joe Biden's not going to do the right thing. He'll just do the less wrong thing than Trump would, which is still a huge improvement.

I wonder how Trumpers will explain how the Democrats actually wanted what Trump wanted but the GOP Senate will be the reason it got stuck down. The DEMS are all evil socialists right? Looks like all this push to get $2000 a person, which lead to people losing their unemployment benefits was for nothing. We're back to getting the original nonsensical amount and the delay will screw over a lot of people. Never thought I'd see Democrats siding with Trump and the Republicans will be who ultimately kill the redraft of the bill. Republicans stick together no matter what, the vote to impeach Trump was proof of that. I guess they truly don't give a shit about the welfare of the American people. $600's a damn joke, Trump fighting to make it $2k was the only time I actually nodded in agreeance with the orange doofus for his entire term. I understand his motives was probably based on him wanting to screw over the party he feels betrayed him. It would have actually done a lot of good for people who needed it.

I know technically the senate hasn't said no, but that's just because they haven't spoken yet. This bill's DOA as soon as they get their hands on it.

You make the critical mistake of thinking that Republican voters think about things.

They get told by their handlers what to believe. Full stop.

No need to wonder, you can see exactly how they think by reading the first post of this thread:

Well, I see that the Senate is doing what it does best. Absolutely nothing after, initial speeches by McConnel and Schumer, and Sanders. Nope, nothing special is happening, why rush.

So Mitchy objects to American's who desperately need money getting more than the measly $600, I'm shocked. It's sad how most are actually board here but just one idiot saying no can fuck up people getting the help they need. I know Mitch wouldn't be the only no, but it should be majority rules. I wonder how far the $600 will go for people who are about to get evicted and don't have food. I mean shit $2,000 isn't even a lot of money in those cases, but it's a million dollars compared to $600. I wonder if Mitch will vote that down too?

I admittedly don't understand how all the politics shit works here, but with Mitch being a bitch there's little to no chance of this $2,000 getting passed right? I know it's not dead yet, but it might as well be. What I'm reading is the senate wants to work on something here, but that something's already been worked out. So they're going to waste more time which will only result in people having to wait even longer to still only get $600? What a fuckin raw deal for the American people.

Trump's punking the Pubs at this very moment with Tweets. Says they have a death wish if they won't vote for the $2000. Wah, happened to my editor options? Oh well, all greyed out.

In case anyone wanted to look at the vote split from the house the link is below.

It doesn't shock me, but 130 no's from the blue team's pretty disgusting to me. Would this even matter? if everyone had voted yes here I don't see it changing the course. OR.... maybe this vote will help, but as a result it'll take 8 more fucking weeks to get anything agreed upon. And another 2 weeks after that for anyone to see any money.

Good catch, damn I meant red not blue. Democrats are on board with Trump here, which is kind of scary to me. Team Red will make sure this crashes and burns. To quote the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

Schrader's comment
“I rise today to speak against the CASH act.

“This is an ineffective and poorly targeted approach to aiding Americans in distress. It is clearly a last minute political maneuver by the president and extremists on both sides of the political spectrum who have been largely absent during months of very hard negotiations. They have chosen to tweet their opinions instead of coming to the table to get aid into the hands of Americans and small businesses that need it most.

“Over the last six months, and especially in the last few weeks as the holidays loomed and COVID cases skyrocketed, my Problem Solvers Caucus worked with senators on both sides of the aisle and House and Senate leadership to craft legislation that includes vetted programs like the PPP and unemployment compensation that have been improved upon since the start of the COVID-19 epidemic.

“I feel for all those who are suffering today due to financial hardship and look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues on a bipartisan, bicameral basis to continue to find ways to help provide relief.

“People who are making six-figure incomes (and) have not been impacted by COVID-19, do not need checks. We’ve had nine months to fix this program, to get it to people who need it most, that has not happened. Let’s reverse course and target those in need.”

The count is already in - there are enough Republican senators on record that will support it to pass it.

It's entirely in Mitch's hands - and all sides need to continuously attack Mitch to ratchet up the pressure.

I definitely approve of Bernie saying he will filibuster and not allow passage of the defense bill veto override until the $2,000 stimulus is done/agreed on.

Georgia run-off senators are also supporting it under pressure for being elected.

Time to get out a club and beat mitch over the head until his brain clicks and realizes this fucking stupid to be holding out on.

Based on statements today - there was some indication of Mitch supporting the $2,000 stimulus. Although he objected to Schumer's unanimous vote today, it's entirely dependent upon him bringing it to the floor tomorrow. Schumer was just moronically gaslighting as per usual, full knowing that there wouldn't be unanimous consent.

Trump is also doing his part to ratchet up the pressure on Mitch and Republicans as a whole:

JK.. People are hurting though, and many desperately need the money. Hey, lets give money away to big business. It's not like they don't need anymore funds.

Um he's bat shit over Section 230.

Th irony is, Destroying Section 230 will stop ALL individual posting on social media sites. It will end social media and message boards.

It DESTROYS his own cult's best propaganda tool.

You are basically correct-absent a revolt by GOP senators (hahaha) Mitch will run out the clock and this will never come up for a vote in the few remaining days of this Senate's session. What McConnell did was a shitty move but an extremely effective political one. The two GOP clowns from GA (and any other GOP senators that want to) can scream to the rafters that they would vote for this bill if it would only come up, but their BS will never be put to the test. It's a win-win situation for your basic GOP senator. And McConnell could care less about any blowback to him-he just got re-elected for another six years. If he's not majority leader I expect him to retire on his ill-gotten millions from federal "service" rather quickly.

I don't understand how barring doing something illegal, senators have a guaranteed job for at least 6 years from when they get elected. In positions of such importance and power their job should be up quarterly evaluations. Terms should be a year max, then run for reelection. Mitch isn't worried about a single person in America liking him because his job's safe for 6 years. I know his job can't be compared to any one I've had. But most of mine they monitored my progress and I'd have regular sit down assessments. Knowing the job you're doing's being watched tends to make a person try harder. No matter what Mitch does here, he's still got a job. If American's don't get anything above $600 he doesn't have a care in the world. He's making 6 figures a year and can't be fired. That's some damn good job security.

It goes deeper than social media or message boards. Section 230 also protects ISP's. If section 230 is repealed, say good bye to the open internet and hello to ISP gate keepers. The Social Media outlets will intern sue the ISP's for allowing individuals access to their site to post. We won't even be allowed to come here to have discussions because of the danger of lawsuits being filed against ISP's. You want to go play GTA V, CS:GO, Call of Duty, etc. or some other online game.. Won't happen, because all it takes is one person to say something in chat and a lawsuit being filed which means all those plate forms, all those multiplayer games will be blocked at the ISP level. It won't happen right away, but if section 230 is repealed, it will happen in time because every company will take drastic steps in protecting themselves from lawsuits and there won't be much anyone of us can do about it, specially with the arbitration clauses that are everywhere now days.
