probably the same thing people in France said then someone drove a truck of tolerance through a crowd of people.

All of these cells have been operating in Europe for a very long time.

Also, pretty difficult to take a leaky boat across the Atlantic for refugees to pour in through the US borders. But you knew that. Or well, you just believe the nonsense fear perpetrated on your sieve-like noggin.

can you really over play cutting someones head off?

seems like the ultimate punishment.

To be honest the stuff ISIS does never really bothered me that much. Maybe I've been desensitized by video games. Also, I'm aware of how much damage conventional weapons do. White phosphorus, barrel bombs, the ISIS stuff kind of paled in comparison.

You know what's funny? I'm WAY more scared of white domestic terrorists. JCC centers continue to receive threats with little to no resolve. White people shooting brown people yelling "go back to your country" and other xenophobic things. The list goes on and on.

Juan Thompson. Black Muslim convert, impersonated ex-girlfriend who happens to be Jewish, promised a "Jewish Newtown".

Most of the time they're Leftist hoaxes. Oberlin college had a Nazi scare not long ago...because Nazis are a problem at a campus where it costs 60k/yr to attend.

I don't remember Trump promising regime change in Syria-and his Russian patrons won't permit it, they want the deep water Mediterranean seaport they have longed after for so long. I do remember Trump's secret two week plan to eliminate ISIS but I guess he hasn't had time to implement it yet with all the important stuff he's been doing.

I do remember Trump promising he wouldn't led us into any new wars.

I also remember GOP politicians in the House and Senate threatening Obama with impeachment if he (allegedly) violated the War Powers Act by sending troops into Syria without Congressional approval. That approval never came, they never even debated it. Funny, though, the exact same politicians are all totally silent when Trump does it? I guess their principles changed.

The FBI compiles a database on investigated/verified hate crime and it runs into >1k/yr, but I'm sure it's all fake to white nationalist sympathizers.

The American moral calculus is rather broken. The notion that it is perfectly ok to blow up 100 innocent people in order to get one bad guy only works in the context of viewing the innocents as less than human.

This is why I'm increasingly unable to enjoy Star Wars as well. So often in our cultural narratives we are the little good guy and the little good guy will disappear into a crowd of civilians in order to give the slip to the bad guy.
