Thing is, this isn't new. We were at this point ~1933. Seems a lot of people want to keep this course, because "all is well," in their minds. THere were a lot of people in 1933 that shared that sentiment. Maybe if we dug a little further, if we were actually curious, we might learn how that turned out for such rightwing sympathizers of the early 30s.
