If this plays out it's just in another of horrible decisions by Trump. I suspect he will to keep his base happy. His base hasn't a clue about global warming other than what FOX tells them. Just maybe his daughter will have some influence.

The only positive outcome if this happens it means more money for environmental groups when folks start joining and donating. Hopefully they will to try and curtail this narcissist and his minions.

"President Trump has told several people close to him that he plans to leave the Paris climate change agreement, according to a new report.

Axios reports that Trump, who has said publicly he hasn’t yet made up his mind the pact, has told multiple people, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he plans to remove the U.S. from the agreement.

Pruitt’s EPA has been working to build public support for withdrawing from the Paris pact, the news outlet noted, adding that top EPA staffers were “relieved” when Trump refused to join other G7 leaders in reaffirming their commitment to the agreement."

Trump reportedly told French President Emmanuel Macron that he was under “heavy pressure” in the U.S. to stay in the deal. Trump tweeted on Saturday that he would make his final decision on the agreement next week.

Is he still leader of the free world if the free world does not follow him?

The G7 Summit attested quite frankly that the US is no longer viewed as holding that position any longer. I guess that has been the case since Trump took office though, but the summit really showcased it.

No. We aren't a leader anymore. It was already heading that way, trump just threw it off the cliff. Can you blame the rest of the world? He has spit in every other countries face. Germany has already said they can't rely on us anymore.

The orange idiot refusing to shake Merkel's hands for a photo op is the most awkward thing I have ever seen!

I am sure that the orange idiot shook hands with Duerte and he'd likely also shake hands with Kim Jong Un.

Good what Merkel said, although it was VERY diplomatic worded of course. The less "impact" the idiot has on other countries, the better. World leaders slowly coming to their senses that they don't want to have anything to do with this idiot.

The supreme irony is that all this will really do for him is make it that much harder to negotiate/renegotiate trade deals which already are enormously difficult. If all he has is bluster or take his ball and go home moves he's pretty much fucked on the international stage.

Elon Musk is going to walk, as he should.

This so-called president is an embarrassment to our species, never mind the country. Groove's pic is all too appropriate. My god, what a pathetic little manbaby.

This is what happens when conspiracy theories go mainstream to the point where they reach all the way to the oval office. It's become a national disease.

I'm hoping the damage from this will be limited to the next 4 years, and won't have that much impact on the total climate picture.

It's certainly a disgrace for the US. but then, our very election of Trump was already a disgrace.

As a practical matter, it's irrelevant, aside from the destruction of US global leadership. He wasn't going to enforce it anyway, and his successor will rejoin it.

It is a thousand times easier to destroy than to build in the first place.

Do you have a clue? What's the cost of reversing climate change?
Surely this is on the tip of your tongue since you have the solution right in your hands. After all the first step of solving a problem is to understand it from all aspects.

Should be an easy answer, funny how its never mentioned by your ilk.;)

You know less than you pretend to know. We've been past the point of no return for some time now.

You demand money for healthcare, free schools, and now to be the footing a massive bill on something which has no effect. Keep demanding to spend money we do not have while pretending to be the wise and "informed".

Conservatives have no interest nor capability to be leaders anymore.
So I'd say no.

Leaders do not follow the lead of mindless herds of sheep.

Paris climate promises will reduce temperatures by just 0.05°C in 2100 (Press release)
