The country that was not a threat but then became a threat and then no longer a threat is now a threat again.

President Donald Trump told Congress in a letter on Friday that North Korea’s “provocative, destabilizing, and repressive actions...continue to constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat” to the United States. The letter, which notes the country’s “pursuit of nuclear and missile programs,” comes just over a week after Trump boasted on Twitter that there “is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea.” “Everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office,” he said. Trump told Congress in the letter that he plans to extend the national emergency with respect to North Korea and the restrictions it imposes—which were put in place under George W. Bush in 2008 and amended multiple times since—for at least one additional year.

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth. "Who controls the past," ran the Party slogan, "controls the future: who controls the present controls the past." And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. Whatever was true now was true from everlasting to everlasting. It was quite simple. All that was needed was an unending series of victories over your own memory. "Reality control," they called it: in Newspeak, "doublethink." (1.3.18)

I guess Trump's pitch to Kim about lining North Korea's "beautiful beaches" with Trump golf resorts fell through.

But that was so long ago, short term memory failure is the keystone of republican ideology

It's part and parcel of mixing half-assed short term policy making geared primarily toward retaining power via keeping the donor class and the base of nutjobs ready to vote them back into office with a president whose narcissism, fallible insecurity and habitual need for adoration and approval keeps getting him in shit he has to very unconvincingly lie his way out of.

Each morning we must check with Dear Leader to know the color of the sky that day...

Oops, I guess that could mean Kim or Trump. Funny that.

Or don't put the cart before the horse. Since Trump supporters are morons, they/you don't understand that.

At least they're acknowledging what literally everyone else knew the whole time.
That Trump lied about North Korea???

Lied again. That number keeps going up and the retarded Trump supporters just dig in further.

Is this some kind of excuse for Trump humpers?

"Trump has a hard job, I bet you couldn't do it." Which is ironic because this is exactly how Trump feels about Kim "the moon" Un. "I bet 1 in 10,000 couldn't do it" he said, and without even realizing it Trump was right, or at least close to being right about something. Because even fewer people than that could probably be as much of a monster as Kim Un even if they tried.

And in this weak apology you too are right, few people could do as bad a job as Trump. Trump is a joke of a president or leader and less than 1 in 10,000 American Profesionals of adult age could do this bad of a job at being president. You could do absolutely nothing all day in the white house and you would look like Lincoln or FDR in comparison.

I'm in no way qualified to be POTUS but I guarantee I could do a better job then this ass clown. Not hard to beat, it just requires caring about people.

My brilliant analysis is that this "report" or letter or whatever it is, to Congress, is just part of Trump's desire to get more atom-based boom-booms in storage, as part of his promise to the faithful deplorables. Congress needs justification to approve measures like this, especially in violation of international treaties, so of course telling them that DPRNK is no longer a threat isn't going to stoke their fancy for more go-big bombs.

One would further speculate that Trump had no idea that this request would be seen by the public.

No it's an observation. If you have the answers, then go into politics. If you're complaining, clearly you have it all figured out right?. That's what I said, that's what it means. Pretty simple eh?
