Trump using his office to pursue personal vendettas.

FFS it's way past time to end this farce.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/busi...2becb4d6067_story.html?utm_term=.d9b45db4f732

President Trump has personally pushed U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan to double the rate the Postal Service charges Amazon.com and other firms to ship packages, according to three people familiar with their conversations, a dramatic move that probably would cost these companies billions of dollars.

Brennan has so far resisted Trump’s demand, explaining in multiple conversations occurring this year and last that these arrangements are bound by contracts and must be reviewed by a regulatory commission, the three people said. She has told the president that the Amazon relationship is beneficial for the Postal Service and gave him a set of slides that showed the variety of companies, in addition to Amazon, that also partner for deliveries.

Despite these presentations, Trump has continued to level criticism at Amazon. And last month, his critiques culminated in the signing of an executive order mandating a government review of the financially strapped Postal Service that could lead to major changes in the way it charges Amazon and others for package delivery.

Did he bring Bill Gates in to explain what a contract is?

amazon would just drop using the USPS all together and rely more heavily on 3rd party carries and/or expand their already quickly growing self-branded delivery service.
USPS business would drop through the floor (they basically deliver junk mail, Amazon and birthday cards from Grandma at this point). They'd lose millions/billions more. People would be laid off. #MAGA

I’ve always felt this is what’s going to get Trump into trouble. Not Russia or porn girls, it’s going to be Trump directly telling some government agency to do something to an enemy to undermine their business or investments.

I've lost count of how many issues Dump is a complete hypocrite or outright liar about, but the 'government shouldn't be picking winners and losers' is one of the classics.

So here he is, 'picking winners and losers' again, just like ZTE. America First also covers Chinese companies apparently! Same thing with 'pay to play' politics. Ranted himself dark orange dozens of times about democrats and 'pay to play,' yet here's Cohen getting paid large sums for access to Il Douche.

One more exhibit for November's run down though. He just keeps reminding the public why they have to start booting these fools from office, and ultimately him. If he can keep this pace up for the next 5 months or so that would be great.

If anyone thought that "America First" meant anything other than "Trump First," then they weren't paying attention:

If you voted for this clown after seeing this very obvious ^ admission, then this is all on you. So fuck you very much, Trumptards. :)

This is some banana republic level corruption and it is insanely dangerous. We all know Trump is very likely attempting to attack Amazon so that the Washington Post covers him more favorably. Maybe amazon and Bezos are rich and powerful enough that they don’t care but that’s not going to be true of plenty of other outlets.

This is the sort of thing impeachment is made for yet I’m sure congress will do nothing.

It's actually rather upsetting that conservatives are silent on this. This is 100% impeachment worthy.

But WaPo hurt Trumpy's feels and Bezo's owns WaPo and founded Amazon so someone has to pay for those poor hurt feels.

Sadly this has become Bezos is hated by Trump so everything Bezos does is guided by a higher power.

If Bezos treated his employees as well as Costco does theirs it'd be a lot easier to take sides though.

apparently it took articles like the one above for fullfilment centers to get better for employees

but there are still some interesting things on the horizon

While the patent describes this tech as a time-saving system, tracking workers in this way seems dystopian. That’s especially true for Amazon, a company that has been accused of enforcing intolerable conditions at its warehouses, like timed toilet breaks, 55-hour work weeks, and packing timers that ensure a worker is packing enough boxes per hour.

Too bad the U.S. Post Office has been an avenue conservatives to attack public institutions as a matter of course when before the retirement funding act for the Post Office was passed it was definitely paying its own way.

Not sure I buy that, business inside.com is owned mostly by Axel Springer SE but Bezos has a share in it as well. Just does not make sense. Axel Springer SE has its shares of criticism as well with what the cover in their publications. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axel_Springer_SE

Amazon is shitty to many (all?) of its employees. That in no way makes it anywhere close to okay for the government to attack a business because it owns a news organization that is critical of the government.

Yes Amazon was and may still be big on stack ranking. Basically the bottom 15-20% have to go. Sounds reasonable until you find yourself on a team of 5 with 3 above goal and two at goal. One of the at goal guys has to go. That’s when the back stabbing begins.

Agree, but is that worse than businesses getting preferential treatment from the government because they hire the right lobbyists?

This report pretty much sums up the Trump Admin as having an enemies list and working with the power of our government to try and destroy the people and companies on that list. Sure, Amazon is the only one cited... but you know it does not stop there.

Remember, Nixon was removed for trying to hide the very thing Republicans now blatantly approve of.

Did he order a review of all the contracts or just Amazon?

Why did the wp say Amazon and other firms and not Company X and other firms?

Could it be because they knew it would trigger the TDS suffering, headline reading fucktards into clicking on the website and some faux outrage in support of the papers owner?

Nah.

Bezos just attacks government like in Seattle by threatening to close up shop if they tax him too much like Master Blaster in the Mad Max movies,

Bezos and Trump 2 peas in the 1% pod both treating their employees and (contractors in Trumps case) like toilet paper to be discarded once used up and replaced with a fresh roll, Trump just happens to be president doing his own version of "Operation Choke Point" through the Post Office just not as smart or with the plausible deniability the Obama administration used to go after businesses they didn't like.

Let me get this straight, you are equating government regulators going after businesses with a high risk of committing fraud and money laundering as the same as going after a business that controls a paper that writes bad stuff about the president?

You are one stupid mother fucker!
