I find it strange that so many Liberals / Progressives / Lefties and Democrats seem to know so much about how Conservatives / Republicans feel, think and why.

So far I have had only a minor understanding their train of thought and why.

Typically conservatives understand liberals better than the other way round when it comes to the moral concerns of each side. I have learned to appreciate conservatives better than I used to due to my interest in science as in say, the works of Jonathan Haidt. But knowing something about the matter myself will not change the fact that the last thing conservatives want is to understand themselves.

PS: Liberals who have some greater depth of understanding of their own short-comings owning to things like extensive scholarship, profound curiosity or just plane unbiased introspection are similarly poorly understood and thrown into the same stereotypical kettle. It's why for example, a liberal like Jordan Peterson gets called a fascist sympathizer. It's God Damned sad.

If he thinks those things, then why did his lawyers say nothing at the hearing? DoJ was arguing against its release, but Trump's representatives said nothing, leaving DoJ's position as the only one presented to the court. I see no other logical inference than what I previously stated.
It's not Trump's entreaty to the court, it's media organizations, networks, NY Times, possibly others.

Being a felon does not disqualify you from the presidency. In fact you can run while currently in prison.
Can you run if you're dead? I want him dead.
One of the charges prevents him from holding office. If Biden were to pardon him from that, Trump would be accepting guilt for it and would be prohibited from running. Personally I would rather see him in jail and out of politics rather than not running but enabling MAGA to win primaries throughout the country.
Jail is the best place for him.

and if you want to keep him there no way we can elect a Republican President again until he dies. They can't be trusted to uphold the rule of law and they would pardon him.

"No one is above the law" would go out the window
Unfortunately, that IS the disgusting truth.

We may need the Grim Reaper to dispense final justice. :colbert: Disgusting, I tell you. Um, luckily his life expectancy is nothing to brag about.

I used to think Ford did a good thing pardoning Nixon. Not anymore.
I have always thought it was heinous. Pardoning power should be all but eliminated. Maybe not entirely, but it should be somehow made very difficult. I hope to hell Trump does NOT get pardoned. If that's in the cards, the first thing I want to see is the Trump organization destroyed. Word is, that IS in the cards with Allen Weisselberg's recent testimony. He refused to rat on T and his family, but the organization can be destroyed nonetheless.

Remember those halcyon days, 48 posts ago, when pcgeek told us he would never return to this thread?

Well, here we are, yet more raging nonsense so fucking far from the topic because he no longer has a fucking dick to stand on when it comes to any actual meaningful issue. Just look at his shit: form his first fucking post in here he specifically introduced an irrelevant topic, and just hammered and hammered that it is so important, all the while inventing nonsense arguments against the fucking bullshit that he, himself, fucking introduced.

lol, and now he's going after thoroughly popular legislation that dems won big time, because he's getting a fucking rage boner at not being able to stop a single fucking thought creeping into his skull right now about how fucking wrong he's been about everything. it's giving him a stroke.

....a d you chuckleheads keep engaging.

pcgeek: fuck right off with your pointless non sequitors. It's fucking childish you dumb idiot. You said "I AM DONE WITH THIS THREAD!" 5 fucking pages ago, and you didn't once shut up. Get the fuck out.

Bologna. LOL

Illegals and Drugs have been an issue for decades. It was a lot less of a problem during the Trump presidency. Look at the numbers they don't lie.

It has nothing to do with Fox News.

You gotta be fucking kidding about drugs. You want them to be less of a problem, you have to address demand. Trying to choke supply just makes the cartels and other associated criminals richer and more powerful. Trump did fuckin nothing of any consequence, and neither have the others.

I can also observe their actions and they make no sense to me.

Drugs flooding across the southern border. Border is more open than it has ever been.

Illegal Immigrants flooding across with no accountability. Over working the border patrol. This allows the drugs to flow over the unattended sections of the border. It also promotes human smuggling / trafficking and death of the immigrants and our citizens/children.

Allowing criminals to get out of jail with no consequences and then repeat their crimes over and over.

Spending money like a drunk sailor. Such as the Inflation Reduction Spending Bill. LOL which it doesn't do.

  • The Act would have no meaningful effect on inflation in the near term but would reduce inflation by around 0.1 percentage points by the middle of the first decade. These point estimates, however, are not statistically different from zero, indicating a low level of confidence that the legislation would have any measurable impact on inflation.

  • Relative to current law, the Act would slightly reduce GDP in the first decade while slightly increasing GDP by 2050. These estimates include the impact of debt reduction, carbon reduction, and tax incentives on investments and working hours.

Meanwhile you concern about the health of the democracy is zero

Without that we have nothing

I do know one thing, you are a shitty judge of character. People should take that into account when you give your opinion on ANYTHING.

I told him he was trolling this thread. I told all and sundry and told them not to feed the troll. But it all started again a day or so ago. I stayed the fuck out of that shit. I don't have him on "Ignore" but I ignored him anyway and the retorts to him. People don't realize sometimes what trolling is. It's a perverse way to get attention. Usually a troll doesn't realize they are trolling. That does not excuse what they do.

I have seen more 4 letter words on this forum than I care to remember. I personally do not care about language. Why am I the only forum member here that gets put in time out for 48 hours for using foul language once every 2 years? I am requesting immunity .

There is but one legitimate venue for "commenting" on moderator actions, the aptly named Moderator Discussions.

I'm thinking destroying the Trump organization is for the most part destroying Trump himself. What will remain of his wealth in the aftermath and the possible bankruptcies that he'll wind up filing in order to protect what's left of it from his creditors and from further lawsuits and indictments is anybody's guess, but having his empire dismantled and in shambles is also wrecking that facade of being a suave smooth-talking macho macho man he'd built up around him. I'm sure he'll keep that up until he's dead and gone, but he'll be exposed for what he really is in ways he and his supporters have never had the humiliation to experience and that alone is justice served in and of itself.

His supporters will believe he was railroaded till the end, NOTHING can change their minds about him...NOTHING

I assume we’re talking PN right? Well you gotta catch the waves man and have a little feel for whats PC today… for example we cant use the word retracted(my cardinal sin) anymore… and if you were here around the ownership change there was a hard crackdown as well, everyone got the hammer… but its sort of mellow again… Just remember that this is not a real place and freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence… and dont pull a Jordan Peterson and refuse to delete a tweet and go “WOKE BASTARDS IMMA CANCEL YOOOUUUUU”.

Oh and things that goes in the body does not go in the title of a new thread.. for example shithole.. clean up the thread title and go at it in the body..

Do you think that Ukraine was discussed at that time?

A Molotov-Ribbentrop pact for the 21st century?

I was visiting Latvia at the time of that summit. That was very much what everyone was thinking and, iirc, the ~2 hours that only Trump, Putin, and Putin's translator were hanging out together. There is absolutely no existing record in the hands of the US of what happened at this meeting.

But what was the difference in impeachment and successful removal and banned from holding elected office again any different to the criminal conviction and not being able to hold elected office being discussed now? Only because impeachment in the constitution vs legislation?

AFAIK you can run for office from prison. It’s just impractical. There are some offices that bar felons.
