Dumb question, if this is Canon's reasoning for dismissing the case, why wasn't that done in the beginning? This isn't some new revelation. Or does Trump's team have to float that as an argument for dismissal?
Uncle Thomas in his opinion said Smith wasn’t appointed properly

Why dismiss a case early when you can wait and do it later to make it even harder to try the case.

I suspect it took a while for Trump's lawyers to hatch this scheme, give it to Cannon and get Clarence Thomas to make a statement giving her cover. Cannon does the bidding of Trump's lawyers unless she thinks it will get her into trouble.

Delay delay delay. Same as a win for Mango Mussolini.

I wonder if she did this on purpose to get thrown off the case. The pressure would be off and she would still be in good standing with trump.

I'm sorry if there has been asked and answered, but where are all the documents? Has everything been sent back to the archives?

If they ever build a tangerine terrorist presidential library it should be designed like the restroom of a Pilot highway rest stop.

I agree with your sentiments with the exception that you're being way too nice to Trump.

Pretty sure the entirety of the documents seized in the search, minus a handful of personal items that were returned to Trump immediately after the search (e.g. passports), remain in FBI (or at least more broadly Justice Department) custody. The confidential/secret marked files were supposed to be available for review at a secure facility there in Florida, held separately from the boxes of all other documents.

Even Trump's Cannon agreed & ordered (back in 2023) that the classified documents "are now and will remain the property of the United States." The order terminating the case did not make any mention of the documents, other than "This Order shall not affect or weaken any of the protections for classified information imposed in this case or any protective orders pertaining to classified information"

There are apparently still "missing" documents though. Some thought of them being at one of Trump's other properties where a warrant wasn't granted. Lots of discussion about boxes on a plane to NJ during the time they were being requested to be returned by the govt.

I'm all for the urinals just dumping into a drain line that empties onto his head stone.

Also the timing of the failed assassination attempt on Trump... She probably thought releasing it now mean it would sneak under the airwaves undetected.

If it were anyone else, everything they owned would've been searched. It's crazy how much deference they've given this guy.

Somewhere out there there's people making that happen. Of course, it's the ones that will benefit from it the most. Forgot to add that it's the people who control and/or influence the media outlets that have the most say in who governs us.

Lol that makes no sense????? Orange monkey lawyer. He’s confident appellate court will refused Smiths request. News anchor, well if you’re so confident why not make same motion to remove him in Jan 6 case? Well that judge is bound to different ruling. WTF?!??!??!?
