What do you think Trump meant by "a certain point"? What do you think he means by "it would be very bad"?
It’s quite clear. I think “a certain point” is his impeachment or electoral defeat. “Very bad” is violence. He is claiming that the military, police and biker gangs would rise to his defense. The more reasonable people in the thread already recognize this as absurd. It is a clear violation of Presidential norms and I see it as a dare aimed directly at the emboldened Congressional Democrats. It’s “come at me bro” posturing meant to distract or otherwise undermine Congressional probing of his administration and inner circle.

Ever heard of the People Power Revolution in Manila against Marcos?

I have a feeling it might take that to throw him out.

... or it is an admission he will resort to Violence. Whatever his intentions this type of rhetoric is unacceptable and he has been warned of saying similar unacceptable things repeatedly. At what point does one become aware that a situation is very dangerous?

Yeh, illegal payoffs to porn stars to further his campaign isn't enough for the GOP. I figure there's more to come, however.

Anybody else notice that Trump is running scared?

Trump has the perpetual look of someone trying desperately not to utilize the Depends they are wearing.

Innocent people don't elect to repeatedly obstruct justice if they have nothing to hide, nor would they pull a Putin and threaten violence via their own 'biker brigade.'

Yeah, Putin's taint attendant knows he is screwed.

Tick tock trumpets...

IIRC, he needs re-election to beat a couple of charges already to go if he loses or is impeached, that's a pretty good reason for him right there.
I think if they have him on sealed indictments, the SOL ends whe the indictments are filed, and if that the case, he's fucked.

just came across a insult that's pretty descriptive of trump:

he has the IQ of a room temperature cup of yogurt

Remember what Cohen said. He doesn't give orders, he just says what he'd like to see happen.

Trump isn't smart enough to pull off a coup. I doubt he's smart enough to hold up a liquor store successfully.

He's staying in power because he got elected legally. But if Trump ever tries to defy that system and rule illegally, he'll fail.

Whether he loses the next election normally or abnormally, the Secret Service agents would drag him out of the Oval Office by 12 noon on Inauguration Day if he's not out of his own accord.

Is it worth worrying about? probably. Is it likely to happen? No, not very. In fact, it's unlikely to happen precisely because the right people are worrying about it, and hence taking actions to prevent it.

I don't think it is that anyone really thinks he could pull off a coup, it is that just threatening it is dangerous to our system of government. If we allow this to pass unchallenged then others will see that there is no real consequence for this sort of thing and then others will start to slowly erode the measures that prevent it until someone is finally successful. Sort of like a President eroding the checks and balances of our government by declaring a national emergency because Congress didn't give him the funds he wanted for his pet project. Perhaps in the future some President will remove the Secret Service and replacing them with a private security force, that will be more loyal to him than the United States...

The yogurt is definitely the more cultured of the two, that's for sure.

I'd be surprised to hear he dresses himself actually. My 9 year old has a larger verbal glossary than the Russian asset, but then in all fairness, my son is too young to be suffering from dementia.

Yea, he has power because everyone else is respecting the law. No one in DC actually likes Trump the person. You can just look at what those around him have to say when they leave.

Hey, Putin's a real leader, unlike Obama, he's just trying to be like Putin.
