Trump’s war against the FBI continues. Say what you want about whether Ulbricht’s sentencing was too heavy handed or if he was someone to be “made an example of”…but there’s no way to justify a full unconditional pardon vs. clemency.
In announcing his pardon, Trump used the words, "The scum that worked to convict him were some of the same lunatics who were involved in the modern day weaponization of government against me.” Only a mob boss talks like that.
Elect a criminal, and you shouldn’t be surprised when more criminals are set free on the streets.
