Trump is breaking the NAFTA Mexico/USA/Canadian deal by imposing a 10% tariff on Canadian Aluminum.

So after knocking over all the pieces, shitting all over the board then strutting around like he won the game.... he gets to decide new rules for the game... loses that game too, knocks over all the pieces again and is now in process of shitting the board?
Gooooooooooo TRUMP!

Ottawa responded to previous U.S. tariffs by targeting goods produced in districts represented by Republicans. But perhaps the Orange Ignoramus is playing four-dimensional chess as usual, and it’s beyond us mere mortals to understand it. Look how he made COVID-19 disappear like magic – poof! gone in just a few days. No one else could have done it.

I say no American should vote in your next election. Result is a NO Winner.
I would love to reform our election system. Get rid of the Electoral College and make the majority vote win the election. Make the vote an instant runoff ranked choice, with the extra candidate None of the Above. If None of the Above wins, the election has to be done again with all new candidates. As long as we're allowing multiple elections, allow Congress to hold a simple-majority vote of No Confidence and do early elections for President.

But, to paraphrase Donald Rumsfeld, you go to the voting booth with the system you have, not the system you might want or wish to have at a later time.

Edit: By the way, there are efforts to reform the election system. States are making an agreement to vote for the majority winner in the Electoral College. I think we get to vote on that this year in Colorado. The most practical way I see to get an instant runoff ranked choice vote for President is an instant runoff jungle primary; but the political parties would have to agree on that.

Quote myself: "I say no American should vote in your next election. Result is a NO Winner."

I said that as a Canadian joke to evoke (bring or recall to the conscious mind) our American neighbors ; however, I can't believe the response it's getting !

Kinda does hang on one's mind though and would be no doubt be the quietest rebellion of all time in a constitutional democracy as no guns are required - LOL ;o)

If no one votes that's a true democratic rebellion and there is no elected winner and you will not have president to say the least , not even Trump can claim to be a winner.

This is a stupid idea and would never happen anyways. Find a better plan.

Maybe someone can answer why would any country in the future trust the United States?

I wonder why so many think this isn't a big deal?
Countries are learning fast that making any agreements with the United States is totally dependent on the latest partisan fickle moment. Why bother?

I have to scratch my head at this. Spend ages trying to renegotiate a deal (which isn't that much different than the last one), then violate it because of vague claims about your trading partner. It could be just a distraction to boost polls, but it's not a very good one. I think most Americans are more interested in this whole "not dying from COVID-19" thing.

Seems pretty straightforward.
Campaign on a talking point that he didn't understand.
Begin "rebranding" effort to trick people into thinking he delivered anything.
When faced with losing a popularity contest (aka elections aka worried that his "White House reality series" might get cancelled) do what some guy says you should do to improve your ratings.
In this case, some asshole from Kentucky combined with the shit talking points he gets from the incompetent buffoons he surrounds him self with.

It's just another self aggrandizing dance of distraction from Trump. It's all about him. Everything.

Just say you are a mostly peaceful protester - poof! COVID-19 is no longer contagious.

I had to laugh at your having the audacity to try this when Trump has a confirmed white supremacist advising him on immigration policy.

Or, for that matter, the temerity to suggest that mask-wearing people protesting injustices are the same as maskless people attending an entirely unnecessary indoor rally meant mainly to pad someone's ego.

Come back when you have some ammunition in that debate gun of yours.

And it only took him a month to violate the USMCA. Is anyone surprised by this?
Treaties are for losers. Obviously!

No one can or should trust the United States. Every 4 years our policy can flip 180 degrees.
And the policy of one party is to explicitly dishonor and break our previous deals and agreements.
As I’ve said before this will be among the most long-lasting damage of the Trump years. Every single deal we make will come with the same question - but what if you guys elect another Trump? Because of that we are going to have to give extra concessions and/or make deals that give other countries opt out clauses, etc.
