It will be fun to watch Republicans turn into deficit hawks lamenting the burden we are placing on our children with this debt shortly after noon on January 20th, 2021.
That assumes that there will be a changing of the guard on January 20th, 2021 . . .

As much as Mr. Conway had posted the Tweet "You.Are.Nuts" directed at the Scourge-in-Chief, Orangutan-Head is now ramping up talk of "six more years". Maybe -- he doesn't want to tip his hand, with a number in mind greater than six.

OF course, we could think he doesn't have the presence of mind to make even that calculation.

We could think . . . .

How to say this....
Fiscal irresponsibility is what Republicans do, because if they understood how the economy worked they wouldn't be Republicans. You claim there is some tactic at play. It's called stupidity.

seems republicans are on a downward spiral in the intelligence of those that win the presidency, bush43 was not known for his smarts, and trump has even less than bush did.

I do think the shit will hit the fan as far as the economy is by the 2020 election and will require the last tax cut to be rescinded and then some.

Well, first, it is definitely premature to say the Democrats are going to win in 2020, at least until they get their act together and find someone with wide appeal instead of just the far left wing. In any case, I agree that Trump's policies are "scorched earth", both the tax cuts for the rich and the gutting of environmental and business regulations to promote jobs and profit at all costs. This is pretty much SOP for the republicans though.

People always claim that Democrats are nominating ‘far left wing’ people but this never made any sense to me. Generally speaking the policies being put forth by the Democratic contenders poll as being overwhelmingly popular.

Who would have ‘wide appeal’ and what policies do they have?

The problem is that the GOP has gone so far to the right that any policy that is reasonable, or based on the real world, now looks like 'the far left'.

I have already said I think Joe Biden is the only one who has a decent chance to beat Trump. Really none of the democrats "appeal" to me. I actually think Hillary was a more qualified candidate with more moderate policies than most of the candidates for 2020. She just personally put a lot of people off, Trump (a model of high moral character) managed to smear her very effectively, and she did not manage her campaign very well. No matter what, I will not vote for Trump, and I will not throw my vote away by not voting or voting for someone who has no chance, so I am pretty much forced to vote for the democratic candidate. But Biden is the only so far that I could vote for without serious reservations.
