We are two days from D Day. I'm guessing that is where the biggest fuck up will be. You know, it might rain a little.

I hope the greatest insult to hold Office offers proper respect and stays out of it, but he's got to brag about how great he is so there's that.

What I want to know is how anyone can be so clueless about the British, the Queen, and international politics and diplomacy. The Queen doesn't give a fuck about Trump and I doubt that a woman who has seen more of history made than any other in more than a millennia and she knows her role better than those who haven't the most basic understanding of British society or governmental function. Part of her job is to welcome heads of state and it is the elected government to take it from there. She's met with good leaders and scoundrels over more time than we can comprehend.

What a bunch of imperious twats Americans can be expecting the Queen to back our sensibilities over her responsibility

And not afraid to broadcast our ignorance to the entire universe.

Why? Why does Trump's tailsuit fit so poorly? The man is the freaking president.

Looks like he is going to meet Nigel Farage afterall. He just arrived at the US Ambassador residence where Trump is staying. Trump got there 15 minutes ago.

I still can't believe Queeny gave him a book, some rather fine trolling I should say!

Getting along with a real president prepared her for the fake one I think.

You also have to look at the messaging they've been sending Trump given Churchill and what he believed in. They aren't being subtle here at all. It's been more than just the book. Theresa may presented him with a framed draft of the 1941 Atlantic Charter between Roosevelt and Churchill. You know, setting out all the international rules on trade and diplomacy.

Just out of curiosity, since it hasn't really come up in this thread I don't think, can anyone tell me why in the F all of Trump's adult kids are there since most don't work in the administration and who is paying for it?

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/04/politics/trump-family-royal-family-status/index.html

For the President, bringing his adult children, in his view, is akin to showcasing his version of royalty. In an interview ahead of the trip with the British tabloid newspaper The Sun, Trump said he wanted Ivanka, Donald Jr., Eric and Tiffany to hold a "next generation" meeting with the Prince William and his wife, Kate, and Prince Harry.
"I think my children will be meeting them," said Trump. "It would be nice."

(emphasis mine)

Good stuff

Apparently the two have been cooking up a scheme whereby post-Brexit UK agrees to a "really really good" unilateral trade deal with America... But they have to tank the National Health Service first!! So much winning.

I'm trying to get my mind around the idea that any organism capable of responding to stimuli would advocate for an American style healthcare system. It's like anti-vaccer leveled up stupid.

So, the POTUS goes for a state visit hosted by perhaps our closest ally, and the response is mockery and mass protests? Mmmm, I can almost taste the greatness
