No photoshops of trump in the civil war. Disappointed. There is plenty of stock pictures available.

Trump's language does not imply here was alive during the American Civil War. It's just what people say when they want to believe whatever they want to believe, which in this case, is Trump trying to attract attention to his golf course.

But no, it does not hint he was alive during the Civil War.

Next up the grammarians will correct Trump's incorrect usage of "their" and "there."

Must be a slow news day if complaining about some pointless historical trivia about a golf course is the story. Even if he was deliberately lying so what, it's not like he gets some great political advantage by it. This is akin to the non-issue lying stories about Paul Ryan's marathon times, or Hillary coming under "sniper fire" when exiting a helicopter; no one gives a crap.

Many people died at "The River Battle of the Mulligans" that day.

Golf scores were skewed accordingly.

Limbaugh has made a living out of lying non stop for decades even when he has admitted to doing so.

If people are dense enough to listen to this kind of crap and believe it, who am I to say any different.

He isn't even very good at it, admits it, and some people still eat that crap up.

I'm surprised Limbaugh and Trump weren't alive when they invented bread.

I'm still cheering for Trump.
The other options? Cruz? Carson? Please..... no way.

Trump nor any of the others could ever win, republicans already have accepted that.
2016 will be the year of the woman, and while Hillary is less than perfect, she is good enough.
And debates with Trump vs Hillary will be more entertaining than Hillary vs Cruz or Hillary vs Carson (which Hillary could just sit back and sleep thru).

So lets have some fun. Cheer on Donald and give him a break.
I can only imagine the TV ads Donald will run against Hillary.
You think Donald is silly now, just wait till Donald sticks Hillary's head on a pig and the pig is gang banged by a group of iOwa farmers.
Considering that Donald now officially hates iOwa. ;)

Trump! Trump! Trump! !!! !!! !!!

Is it particularly respectful to turn what you believe is a civil war battlefield where lots of people died into a golf course?

Eh, this is the worst part of the story, really:

"It is my great honor to have preserved this important section of the Potomac River,”

It's a golf course. No preservation whatsoever. Not only is it the greatest blight you can introduce to any natural resource; if this actually were a battlefied where soldiers died, then it would be a shameful disgrace to turn such a place into a golf course.

a fucking golf course.

Now, clearly, I doubt he would have ever been able to build there in the first place if it was recognized as a historical battlefield. And he knows it, because he probably went through that process. Then all he has to do is tell a stooge to make some sort of stupid plaque, put his Trump stamp on it, and it is therefore official.

lol. what a goober.

It's a brilliant marketing strategy to target the large and yet-underserved customer segment of crossover Civil War Reenactors/Golfers. Trump is going to make trillions on this idea, TRILLIONS, and you'll kick yourself for not getting in as an investor on the ground floor of this opportunity.

I'm amazed how badly this story was spun. Trump might be a douche, but he didn't imply he was there. He was told a story, and that story is probably wrong.

Um yes? Would you rather they dig the whole thing up and put a parking lot there?

Badly? I think I spun this to exactly the absurd level it warranted as a non-story.

You all might need to relax.

When are Trumps kids going to step in and help dad realize he's starting to sound like a senile person at the OFH?
Cmon family save him from further embarrassment
