Your theory presumes that Trump supporters are the only ones intelligent enough to avoid the influence of "lmsm"-which is laughable. I heard literally hundreds of commentaries over the last year whose theme was "has Trump gone too far this time?" Remember too that Faux News spent many months vigorously pushing the anybody but Trump camp until his nomination was inevitable, then they tried to polish him.

It's pretty amazing to me after a year plus of saying outrageous things and having absolutely no adverse effect on him, all of sudden EVERY semi-stupid thing Trump says comes back to backfire on him big time.

I'm sure many will cite some sort of jump the shark theory coupled with his repeated attacks on the gold star parents, but I'm not convinced. After all this is the same guy that had no adverse effect from attacking a very popular Pope.

If Trump had half a clue for being respectful of the military, its traditions, and the sacrifices necessary to be awarded a Purple Heart, he'd not "accept" it....."I always wanted one. Gee, thanks!"...but would have, instead, pinned on the chest of the vet offering it, thanked said vet for his service and sacrifice, and had most everyone cheering, both in the audience and those watching later.

Instead, he took it and dishonored/discredited the meaning behind the medal. The vet was wrong in my opinion even offering it to Trump.

The media always runs with the 'horse race' in Presidential elections. No matter how crazy the Republicans get, no matter how bad they might lose the contest, the press loves to portray it as neck-and-neck. The problem with Hair Furor is that the press can't make what he says into something that can be used to create their usual horse race scenario. They've tried, over and over again, and have failed to make him look like a serious candidate.

I think once he shit all over the Khan family the press decided that if they can't make him into a viable-looking candidate then they might as well go the other direction and make bank on showing how nuts he is.
