The great thing about Trump’s NABJ interview is that it’s shitting all over Republican’s efforts to define Harris. The opportunity that Republicans have (that’s rapidly evaporating) with Biden dropping out is that Harris is much less known and defined in public perception. They should be dumping a TON of advertising on her right now to cement an unflattering picture of her. All they have is 3 weak bullet points that are mostly bullshit, but painted in the right way MIGHT get some independents, double haters and the not going to vote people to maybe lean to Trump.

Failed border "czar"/person
runaway inflation
San Fransisco "liberal"

I’m not saying that these attacks have any validity. But these are clearly the lines of attack that have the most promise. Anything they say outside of those three lines is a distraction. And Trump’s off talking about whether she’s fucking black while Vance is criticizing her for not having biological children. This is terrible political messaging. And while GOP messaging is always vague and muddled, Harris has the time and space to build up her own positive image with voters. I’m thinking Trump’s political advisors and the rest of the GOP understand most of this (maybe not), but this is what you get when your candidate’s Donald Trump. Instead, they are having weird conversations about whether she can be black AND Indian, a concept that 99% of voters don’t have a problem reconciling.

This election is not going to be won or lost over an argument about whether Kamala Harris is black. The people for whom this is an “issue” are already voting for Trump. The election is going to be won by whomever can get independents, slight leaners, double haters and non-voters to break their way. Republicans have now spent four days completely sidetracked from these issues because of Trump’s mouth.

This NABJ interview was a boon to the Harris campaign. These black journalists most likely already knew exactly what’s going to come out of his mouth. This platform gave Trump his usual opportunity to dodge questions, hurl insults, and spout lies. He’s not going to be cooperative at all and act like a normal person. He’s only going to use it as another opportunity to grab some quick photo ops and headlines to reinforce his love of “the Blacks” with his base. It failed miserably.

Trump sycophant Rep. Byron Donalds – who is black – was on This Week deriding this all as a “phony controversy” that people don’t care about. Even as he repeatedly stated that Harris had entered the Senate as an Indian-American and not black and that "people are trying to figure this out.

Stephanopoulos called him out on it multiple times.

Chris Christie weighed in on the show saying the attacks on Harris and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and first lady Marty Kemp reflect “impulse” as opposed to a thought-out political strategy.

“You can’t imagine that anybody who understands anything about politics would say, hey, here’s a great idea: Go to the National Association of Black Journalists and question whether Kamala is really black or not,”

“This is who he is, George. This is personal. He’s juvenile,”

I don’t think the op is a troll just really really shocked no one else interpreted events the same way they did and for whatever reason they are fundamentally unable to wrap their head around that.

Could be, it’s just 20 pages of people trying to have a reasonable debate and OP employing one rhetorical fallacy after another /shrug

It's not hard to wrap your head around the fact that people just consume news without questioning, just like you. Have you watched the video in full? If not, then just stop.

It's simple folks. Go ahead with the personal attacks, they're just adorable.

Keep losing your minds, I answered all your questions in earnest.

About one of you watched it in full. It's painfully obvious for some of you to just believe the straight-up lies in the news (yes Trumps mic did have difficulties). Damn sheep; all because I saw something full for once.

So many goal posts moved.

It just tickles me when you guys pile on, all foaming at the mouth. All based on what, the clips?

I had to go back and watch the interview, again, because Zeze is so adamant that everyone else is wrong. It couldn't be more obvious that people are laughing AT Trump, not with him. Especially with that added context that, for example, there's no way a room full of black journalists would laugh with a known racist like Trump when they question the blackness of another black person. @Zeze this may shock you but black people don't tend to like that sort of thing. That alone should be a clue, and that's just the first 5 minutes.

this is such a strange hill to die on man.... most of us who watched the whole thing did not see what you saw. The only thing this moves the needle on is juicing up the black vote against him. I could be wrong though.

Also @Zeze, this is how easy it is, I can tell you exactly what would change my mind. If a majority of reporters who were actually at the event came out and said that no, they were laughing with Trump and they thought he nailed it, I would change my position and admit that my I was wrong. The reason that would change my mind is because the people in the room have more context than any of us do, and they could more accurately judge the crowd reaction.

Which rhetorial fallacy?

iirc - a few that I’ve seen from you in this thread, but again….read the link and self reflect. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but I believe in you.

1. Appeal to wishful thinking
2. Jumping to conslusions
3. Confirmation bias
4. Suppressed evidence
5. Circumstance Ad Hominem
6. Strawman

I’m sure there’s others, but that’s for starters

This doesn’t include the goal posts you’ve since your original claim in the title that he “nailed it”, only to later set the bar at refusing to listen to anyone’s input and “nailing it” really means a few cheers in trumps favor. If that’s “nailing it”, I would say the bar is so low for Trump, a turnip could run in his place

It says a lot that we can easily say what would make us change our minds while he is trying very, very hard to avoid doing the same thing.

Which am I subject to? I already addressed regretting saying "nailed it" few days ago.

Did you even read that or just busy emoting on the posts?

How are you all the same?

I thought we were done. Did you have a new point? Why are you keep going back to before OR back to the sidelines and piling-on like a lil female dog?

A triggered sheep.

You and I vote left. But we aren't the same.

If you would bother to click the link, you will find there are many different kinds. I included 6 that you presented in this thread. Go read what they are

Didn't I just write, I already addressed this?

All of you behave the same. No integrity, just dodge when even a smallest correction is proven- literally just now.

For the first time, I'm actually bored. This is getting old.

And personally, I am a bit disappointed. As a long time member, I really didn't think AT Politics was as one-dimensional as twitter full of literal teens.

You asked again which applied, I said all 6 did. It doesn’t matter when in the thread you used them. I state it was one rhetorical fallacy after another. Going from one to another doesn’t meant you didn’t do it previously, just adding them to the list.

Am I the referee? No, I’m not a mod. I’m pointing out your severe lack of debate ability and encouraging you to be better
