Racism has its origin in self hate, the last thing we want to know we've been programmed to feel but the effort to suppress all awareness of that inner rage and desire to get revenge for what we were put through makes it leak out safely via projection. It's not OK to hate the people who fucked us over as children because they made us fear to fight back, but it's perfectly OK to dump that hatred on those we were likened to as a means of putting us down.
Of course to be told you are worthless creates a need to feel better and one way to do so is to claim somebody is actually much worse, somebody other, somebody who is identifiably different, and for whites being black is an easy target.
And after centuries of racist bigotry blacks can fall victim to prejudice themselves and hate themselves, of course unconsciously, for being dark skinned. This is the phenomenon that creates what we call Uncle Toms with Clarence Thomas as a good example. There are many many advantages to being a Black hating Black provided your self respect is profouldly damaged enough, which of course is what self hate does.

I find it interesting that the charge that conservatives are weird seems to be effective as a slur. I have seen it as click bate in internet ads for a rather long time. My theory is that we are so insecure about ourselves because of self hate that we need to keep up with anything weird so we ourselves can have a heads up not to be weird ourselves. Seems like it requires incredible courage just to not care what others think. Here is a saying that helps me with that. Try to please people and somebody will be offended. Please yourself and somebody will be offended. Any question which way to go?
