I've had a feeling that some Trump supporters are secretly hoping for a big terrorist attack to put Trump in his comfort zone again and hopefully right his ship.
Please tell me I'm wrong.

I'm not a "Trump guy" but I'm dubious of your premise. Trump's comfort zone is talking about Trump and he doesn't need a terror attack for that. Hell, an attack would actually force him to talk about something other than himself and would probably be unwelcome.

Good point I mean it fits his narrative better.

I don't know if they are or aren't hoping for that... It would be really low if they were, but look who we are dealing with... Anyhow, I am thoroughly enjoying the Donald's new political reality show. "The Amazing Racist" is one of my favorites. :p

Trump's soulmate Putin organized massive terrorist attacks bringing down apartment buildings in 1999 to scare Russians into voting for himself, and was going to blow up more until FSB officers were caught planting explosives, and pretended it was just an exercise :

Interesting but not what I'm talking about. I'm thinking some of these forums vocal Trump supporters.

Putin seems very eager to interfere in the US election on behalf of Trump to get the sanctions lifted. We should not be complacent about it as just a rhetorical thing on forums.

"Hoping for a big terrorist attack"?

How many do you suspect they want to see?

If Orlando, SoCal, Paris, Nice, Turkey and Belgium weren't enough already I don't know what to tell you.

Trump's poll numbers went down after Orlando, so I don't think it would help him. Hillary is playing warhawk now anyways.

I think the Don is rattled right now and when a child can stump his running mate with a simple question at a rally it's time to do something drastic.... like hire the Village People to sing at his events. :D

Probably, just like some Hillary supporters are hoping for some more mass shootings to give them the political support to finally disarm your average american.

I think Pence handed that well. Did you see the news caster talking to the kid after the rally? We all assume the kid was talking about showing respect and bringing Trump in but that's wrong the kids a young version of LK or Speedy. Kids a hardcore Trump kid. He didn't like how Pence was soft unlike Trump.

Not the video I was thinking of but you get the idea

Someone get this kid a proper tie, like a Trump tie. Seriously his Chinese ties do look nice.

I genuinely don't think posters here are that depraved that they actually want a major terrorist attack here to help Trump's chances for election. However, there are groups who would want a major terrorist attack to help Trump get elected - Isis. Trump as President with his rhetoric would be a great recruiting tool.

Personally, I tend to believe that such rhetoric, which may make young Muslim males in this country feel more marginalized, very well may have the power to push them over the edge toward radicalism.

Muslims with the capability of becoming terrorists don't need help being radicalized. People don't become terrorists just because some people said some mean things about them.

I'd say various factors, the most important being

1. Direct harm (bombings, wars, etc) towards you or your people
2. Indirect harm via the support of your enemies (e.g. our continued support for Israel)
3. Indoctrination (usually as a result of the above two)
4. Economic hardships (usually as a result of the first two followed by geographical displacement and inability to find work)

People that think Islamic terrorism in France is caused by burka bans and offensive cartoons and etc rather than generations of French colonialism in North Africa are delusional. For the few that actually become radicalized over the small stuff, I say let them be so it's easier to identify and kick them out. No one says "Hey, don't attack the Confederate flag or you'll upset the Dylan Roofs".

There is a big trump supporter at my work that comes to my desk every time there's some type of mass shooting or attack, and tries to hold back his giddyness. He likes to inject some "oh see, its happening, what trump's saying is right!" type of line. he's even outright said that if there's a major terrorist attack it would be a boon for trump. it's sickening and i've asked him several times to stop discussing politics w/ me.
