Him trying to rollback the EPA standards is BS. The automakers don't trust him and want to be on the right side of this argument.
Better to have one set of standards than multiples across different states.

As this article was written California was in agreement with four automakers:
"Ford, Honda, Volkswagen and BMW signed on to the voluntary agreement with California, but the deal will have nationwide impact,
as the four automakers account for 30 percent of all new vehicles sold in the U.S. annually. "

As this was being done, cheeto-in-charge summoned three other auto makers to stand with his deal. As he did that, another joined California, Mercedes Benz.

Apparently he's pretty POd at California. Again. :p
"Toyota, Fiat Chrysler and General Motors were all summoned by a senior Trump adviser to a White House meeting last month where he pressed them to stand
by the president’s own initiative, according to four people familiar with the talks.
But even as the White House was meeting with automakers, it was losing ground. Yet another company, Mercedes-Benz, is preparing to join the four automakers
already in the California agreement — Honda, Ford, Volkswagen and BMW — according to two people familiar with the German company’s plans.
Mr. Trump, described by three people as enraged by California’s deal, has demanded that his staff members step up the pace to complete his plan.
His proposal, however, is directly at odds with the wishes of many automakers."

"In addition to Mercedes-Benz, a sixth prominent automaker — one of the three summoned last month to the White House —
intends to disregard the Trump proposal and stick to the current, stricter federal emissions standards for at least the next four
years, according to executives at the company. "

An analysis of cheeto's proposed rollback shows that the consumer will actually spend $3,300.00 more in car prices and
gas purchases plus we will burn 320,000,000,000 more gallons of gasoline.

If it's Toyota (and I'd guess it is) siding with California, his plan is screwed.
Fuck Trump.

Seems I saw this in another thread but as more and more people come to see that Trump is mentally ill, they will write him off as of no consequence. This will trigger his insanity. His delusions are all about pretended significance and his need to feel important.

They aren't going to design cars that will be selling for next 10 years because of some nonsense an idiot who might be out next year spews. Let's say Trump EPA takes away CA waiver, automakers design more polluting cars, then a Democrat wins and restores the CA waiver. They won't be able to sell their cars in California, one of their biggest markets.

The imperious dumbfuck is throwing a tantrum because companies won't embrace the regressive agenda he was given.

Poor, sad, mentally deranged snowflake. Why can't people just put the science down and kiss his ass like he wants? Better go drown your sorrows in some KFC Donnie. Don't forget the gravy.
