The bad people in the media won't report this. Meanwhile, what are his flunkies up to today? Oh yeah, confirming unqualified cabinet picks with ridiculous conflicts of interest.

The irony is that conservatives will automatically believe him, not even considering the fact that during this same period, the number of guns owned, both in total and per capita, went up. Meaning that if the total murder rate went down, they can argue that more guns = less murder. But wait, Generalissimo Trump has spoken and now the murder rate has gone up, so more guns must = more murders. Doh!

A record amount of US cities have been hit by nuclear weapons so far this year. Of course, the Fake News refuses to Report on it. Sad.

Sorry, I can't get over the hilarity of this. Here is the American Enterprise Institute, pro gun ownership, pro Second Amendment and pro Donald Trump, arguing exactly what I just said, that murder went down while gun ownership went up:

http://www.aei.org/publication/chart-of-the-day-more-guns-less-gun-violence-between-1993-and-2013/

Oops, their man just removed the key factual premise from their argument and turned it on its head. Il Duce has spoken: murder is RAMPANT in the US. Time for more gun control!

Let's be honest, you don't think he actually thought it through, right?

Of course he didn't. Like I said in another thread, he acts on impulse.

Too bad they closed the comment section on that AEI blog about guns v. murder rate back in late 2015. I SO wanted to rub their noses in the fact that Trump just totally undermined their entire argument.

No worries, I'm sure His Eminence will correct this in time. He can always declare that while the overall murder rate has gone way up, that no guns are ever used in murders, and never have been throughout the history of the world.

Based on the 7.9 vs. 4.9 per 100,000 pop murder rates then and now, 10,000 SECRET MURDERS were covered up by the media in 2016! Sad!

Hardly. He employs a time tested authoritarian formula. What Herman Goring said about War is all too often true in politics, as well.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

Trump is telling us that we're being attacked- Mexicans & Muslims from the outside, Criminals on the inside & soft headed liberals making it all possible.

From here on out I'm not going to pay any attention to Trump's blatant lies, as a general rule.

The guy lies so much and so often that it is basically a smoke screen. Attention should be paid to what he and his staff do, especially regarding destabilizing our economy, aiding Russis and weakening our military and our allies, especially our European allies.

I agree that is essentially what he is doing. I just thinking he's doing it in a sloppy, not carefully planned manner. He's a narcissist, so he just spouts off whatever he wants people to believe and thinks he can get away with it. And for at least 40% of the US population, that appears to be the case. But not for the whole. Recall that during the campaign, his poll numbers dropped off when he tweeted, and went up when he stayed away from it. So what he's doing doesn't seem to work out for him politically. Like supporting Putin who has a 20% approval rating in the US. These things are not carefully planned.

Actually, you should pay attention. If half the populous believes his lies, and the other half ignores them as a meaningless "smokescreen," how does that work out? If no one believed him, then you could safely ignore him. But unfortunately that isn't the case.

We need to call him out on his lies. Every time.

Trump has flown on the bullshit asymmetry principle all along. Sling it faster than it can be refuted.

Imagine if Trump was a more competent orator or purveyor of fascist views; He would drive us to war in a fortnight. It is pretty clear the US is primed for fascist authoritarian takeover, the problem is the Russians are supporting the dumbest man every to attempt to hold the office as the leader of this new fascist movement and he is screwing everything up royally. He'll be impeached before 4 years, that's already clear. I'm just wondering if he makes it through 2017.

Maybe Trump is actually a blessing in disguise. In his abject, blatant incompetence he invalidates the views of his supporters and thus compromises their political relevance and power. He just sucks, and that doesn't help his movement. Maybe after we get rid of him, we can have sensible policies and government.

But first he has to F things up for awhile.
